Caboose
Besides the classifieds here, Autotrader, and Cars.com, where are other good places online to look for an LGT? I realize these are somewhat rare cars, but I'm not having much luck finding one, let alone a wagon. I'm sure I'll have to test drive a sedan to even decide if I want a Subaru. I've never driven one, and I've never ridden in one.

I've been doing so much looking, I can't remember at this point, but I'll at it to my list of sites to keep in mind.

B2
The thing you have the most of is time so use it to your advantage and do research. I went back and put together an excel sheet of cars that sold on this forum and other places that fit the bill of what I was looking for. I used it as a means to pull all the data together in order to get fair market value. The problem for buyers with these cars is that most sellers know there is a demand that isn't being met, as a result the price of the car is often higher than blue book. Every seller is entitled to sell their car for what it was worth, I had people trying to sell me cars for what they paid for 2 years ago but with many more miles. Stand firm on what you want and something good will come. Was looking at a wagon in OH before the seller decided to hold onto it. Lucked out and last week I took a flight down to ATL and picked up a 5-speed manual wagon will all the power mods I would have wanted to do myself. Hell of a deal in my opinion and all because I was patient and "did my homework."

UI Vandal
Don't be afraid to post up in the WTB section on the forum. List what you need, want, and for how much. Some people (wink) might be about to sell/selling their LGT's and search the WTB section before they post. I know that is my plan.

angler82
I used http://www.searchtempest.com/ to find my 05 LGT Limited wagon. It took about 3-4 months to find the perfect car at the right price. Ended up getting one way rental and driving from Boston to upstate NY to buy it. I guess all I can say is be patient. Im pretty sure I'll have to travel to one of the coasts to find one though. I dont mind waiting for the one I want.
shutterbc
I looked on and off for about 9 months before finding mine. I'm happy with the purchase still, despite little quirks here and there. Luckily I found mine about 40 miles from my house. You'll find it in due time if you're not in a hurry! NuclearCrap
I just bought a white 05 LGT Limited wagon from Serramonte Certified (their new-car dealership does Subaru and VW) near San Francisco. Paid $17k out the door ($15.7k before tax and registration) with 49k miles on the odometer. As rare as these things are, they have ANOTHER one being prepped for sale. I had a look at it while we were discussing price. It's red with beige leather and it's a Limited with around 90k miles on it if I remember correctly, 5EAT. This was just 8 days ago so I doubt they even have the car ready yet. You can probably call and ask if you're willing to come all the way out to the Bay. Here's their site: http://www.serramontecertified.com/

BAC5.2
You are in Dallas? I'll be selling my 09 OBXT Limited soon. I'm in Fort Worth. SWP with Tan interior and a 5MT 65k miles Meticulously maintained (I have most of the records. Oil changed every 3k-3500 with Motul 8100 5W30. Trans/rear diff fluid flushed every 15k. All maintenance done on time. It consumes not a drop of oil.) Engine mods: TurboXS mid/y-pipe - 3" non resonated (only one so far) AFE Dry filter Grimmspeed heat shield Suspension/Brakes: Brembos (F/R) with Stoptech pads Bilstein HD's with STI Pinks Custom spacers to correct suspension geometry Hotchkis sways (25mm/22mm) AVO RSB support brackets KB endlinks Whiteline RCK/Steering Rack Bushings/LCA bushings/Rear camber bushings BRAND New Drag DR34's with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ tires (literally, zero miles) Drivetrain: OEM SPT short shifter linkage Kartboy rear bushing Interior: OE Nav retrofit with Garmin nav and rear-view camera iSimple Gateway iPod/Bluetooth setup Redlinegoods shift boot, e-brake boot, and modified steering wheel LOSSOL VBG-1 v1.05 vent-boost-gauge 35% tint on all windows (over factory rear tint, too making it ~17%) 5% tint on Sunroof Exterior: Yakima roof rack (might not go with the car, though) Yellow Rockblocker on fogs Debadged Misc: Class 3 Draw Tite hitch Primitive Racing 3/16" aluminum skid plate Fumoto quick-drain valve with shorty-nipple and drain hose OEM block heater 6 Hella Supertones Subaru All Weather mats and trunk liner I'm sure there is a lot more I'm forgetting, and I can update as needed. Full disclosure: The car was in an accident ~6 weeks ago. It was not a total loss, and is currently in the process of being repaired. The repairs carry a lifetime warranty, and the car will not be leaving the body shop until I deem it acceptable. My standards for quality are bar-none, so it will be perfect. I've attached pictures from the accident below. The damage was almost entirely superficial, despite my initial thoughts otherwise. The car was Stage 2 for a little while (~15k) but was converted back to Stage 1 before we moved to Texas. The car is back to stock now, though I still have an APV2 I can sell with the car. Before the accident, I'd have rated the car at a solid 9.5/10. No real dings or chips to speak of. I expect after everything is taken care of at the body shop, and after it's detailed, it will easily exceed that. Because it's still at the shop, I don't have a specific time frame of when it'll be available. It could be as soon as a week, or as long as another month. I haven't really thought much about asking price at this point, to be honest, but if you are interested then I'm sure we can work something out. It just ended up needing some minor pillar alignment, from what I was told. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii287/bac52/6B7D5794-D2C0-4377-AA53-389BDB3C159A-433-0000000D689E9FB4.jpg Flip Key Development Thread "Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." - E. Caboose
Yes, I'm in Dallas, just north actually. While I appreciate your offer, I'm really wanting a black on black, or blue on black GT. However, yours is tastefully modded. Thanks for the offer though.
angler82
Don't be afraid of the tan interior. I drove an 05 LGT wagon non-limited first and then my 05 Limited about a month later. The tan interior makes the car feel bigger.
Caboose
I did a tan to black interior swap in my Lexus. I'd do it again for the right wagon, but I'd REALLY like to avoid doing that if possible. BTW, what's a ballpark cost for a full black interior? The Lexus wasn't cheap, even with me doing the work. That's money I'd MUCH rather be spending on other mods.
