18x9.75 +20...anyone else ever go this wide?

I feel like I'm feeding the trolls for even responding.

I get the "Look, Ma, it fits" thing and "it rubbed slightly" bit, however, fender flares are only half the battle. Its the compression of the suspension driving down the road and the extra 6 inches of parking room you need to allow for that really causes problems. Add in the rim rub you'll be getting when you get exuberant with your car, you'll be posting a for sale with the dreaded words "some curbage on the rim".

For someone else's question about running 275's, they fit - http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3908620&postcount=14805. You just cant turn very well - http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fs-wa-enkei-rpf1-18x9-5-38-sbc-p4026844.html

However, as all of OP's pictures are of a parked car, it really shouldnt be a problem.

Then again, you're not the first to go wide nor go for flares, so let's see what you come up with.

I flared my old gf wagon. It was a massive PITA. I also had equipped 17x9.5 +19 sawblades wrapped in 255/45/17 yokohoma s drives (closer to 270 than 255). It fit perfectly but took 2 months worth of constant tinkering to get them just right. I had my car realigned 6 times and changed the ride height 7.

In the end i was left with a 190whp n/a screamer that handled great. So i sold it.

Its not easy, and its not always pretty. I always kept at least one flare as a back up since a turn too wide would cause them to fracture.

Nah ignore the trolling, consider the (few) objective points made in this crap shoot of a thread, and then do what you're going to do. Last I checked you are the owner of your car, not a bunch of total strangers on the internet. If anyone gets anxiety and loses sleep over what you do with your car, that's not your problem.

Flares will be done by a guy who's flared a lot of his cars, E30's, VW's...blah blah blah.

car makes complete turns without rubbing or anything. The only reason why I'm even wanting to put flares is not to avoid rubbing but so i can slam it's face on the ground, clearance is all that matters. oh and plus to much poke is ugly.

also to boxkita...my wheels are wider than that white wagons ;)...so it's cool.

It's what I like, it's what I'll do. I NOW understand you guys here are track guys, all 90% function 10% form, while I'm 90% form 10% function, it's all good.

...lets hug it out.
