Share my happyness and a vf39 question

I am absolutely stoked, picked up a MT 05 gt limited wagon for twenty five hundred bucks! Quite a few miles but leather is mint along with the body. Some gas station shop tore it apart and then said they didn't want to work on it, lol got intimidation by the boxer i bet. Hardly a turn key project but damn i am happy.

Car absolutely in the middle of nowhere Virginia, lost cell signal half way there and had to quite literary go by the map phone had a chance to pre-load

Having accumulated a crap-load of STI parts which include, but are not limited to the turbo, intake mani, hoses etc... i am really wanting to ditch the trashed vf40 and plastic tank top mount(its got crap up in it anyway). BUT the only thing i was able to find is a bunch of write ups on the 39 swap. No info regarding requring a tune or if cobb has anything that is a matter of a quick flash.

I have no time nor desire to mess with a tuning shop or self tune. Is there a map out there for a quick AP flash? Or better yet, does it even need one...

Im confused.

You are saying you picked up a project car thats basically in pieces, want to swap manifolds, turbo's and whatnot and you don't have time/interest in a tune?

:iam:

Im REALLY confused.

If you are going to do all that work, put it together, and then can't afford even a $150.00 e-tune, your better off just getting it running and then selling it for a profit to somebody that can. Otherwise, you are just asking for an expensive lawn ornament after the engine lets go.

if you cant be of any help, then you should probably go and be confused elsewhere, trolling is not a good quality. clearly i have my reasons.

The truth is YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS CONFUSED. I'll take my vf39 knowledge and go since you would rather act like a douche than explain yourself.

I'm sorry we didn't write what you wanted to read. If you just want people to agree with you, don't post, don't ask for answers to questions.

You are swapping in a turbo and intake manifold that didn't come on the car, you haven't even said what intercooler you are going to run, and you asked if there's a ready made flash for the AP because you don't want to get a tune.

Yes, you need a tune. It will *require* a tune. Go ahead and call Cobb, they'll tell you the same thing. And that's just common sense, no tuner is going to make an off the shelf flash for a swapped manifold, turbo, and unknown intercooler.

Whats up with the influx of douchenozzles? Particularly ones disrespectful to LALGT?

+1 lgt.com has slid big time. We need more banning. As the cars get cheaper the trash moves in. I go to nasioc for the civil conversations ;)

VF39s used to be a very common swap on this chassis.

The two tuners you could get in touch with are PDX and Infamous1 (on this forum) and they can do email tunes with you. This turbo WILL need a custom tune.

Just make sure you find out why the car was apart in the first place. That requires a complete engine tear down.

OP a couple of your posts have been removed. I suggest you play nice with your fellow forum members and differentiate between trolling and someone asking for more clarification on a topic that has been covered many, many times before.

I have no idea why I opened this thead again. Somehow I'm an a$$hole because I did not understand what OP's plan was and in case he knew something that was not apparent in his post, sought clarification instead of just jumping his sh!t. Things like that make me want to not help at all or better yet, to go back to just flaming people first and asking questions later. :iam:

Things you don't know...

You have an OBXT not a LGT. OBXT and LGT are NOT the same. OBXT and LGT do not share the same powertrain. For one thing OBXT have different heads, which is the most important difference to you.

More things you don't know...

I have an OBXT. I also have an LGT. My LGT has been vf39 powered. Im no longer interested in your build.

Things you need to read before posting theads, better yet before posting at all...

Thanks, i should have known its ok for me to take it in the ass but when time comes i don't get to return the favor....

I don't doubt all info is there... somewhere. I searched and found a good amount of info, none actually pertained to the specific question. Considering the fact that past few years standard reply to any question has been" search" its not that easy to go through dozens of posts that lead absolutely nowhere. If this community is not user friendly that's fine, wouldn't be the first.

There is a big differences between being helpful and having a fvucking attitude that deserves some teeth knocked out in real time. There is more then one way to ask a question.

 since you don't care to listen to anyone, why don't you just go ahead and throw those parts on and see what happens. I mean what's the worst that could happen?
