bmglaude
Looking for some assistance diagnosing why my cooling fans won't stop cycling on/off at idle? Hope someone can help!
authenticamd
It's suppose to do that. The car is heat soaking at idle.
cseagle08
Is your A/C on? usually just having AC or Defrost on will automatically start to cycle the fans.
Balrock
Not sure where you live, but if it is constant on and off it has nothing to do with heat soak. If your car is an 05 there is a recall for a bad relay fan switch and if it is not cought in time the the ECU had to be replaced. Check with your local dealer. So should I go get this replaced? My fans are working just fine though. On when it's suppose to and off when not needed

frank_ster
but it would say er hc on the odo no? and the water temp gauge full up Now that's thinking out of the boxer! fyi all 05 + legacy's have built in code reader
ouch1011
but it would say er hc on the odo no? and the water temp gauge full up Only says that when a flash is in progress because the ipc cannot communicate with the pcm. With the test connectors jumped, the fan will cycle on and off and the cell will flash.
