Which EL header is best?

would these headers kill the highway drone on these cars?

I was driving back from VT from a ski trip this past weekend. at 80 mph, there is a ton of drone. I have a perrin 1 piece catted downpipe hooked into the stock CBE.

would an EL header eliminate a lot of this noise?

This is my car. Sounds a little meh from behind but in the cabin I love the sound.

Tomei ELH

Perrin 1pc Catted DP with cat removed

GMS Catback

This was also like 2-3 weeks before I got retuned :)

go with one of these:

http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/000_expreme/each-product/gc8-gdb_exhaust-manifold_en.php#equal

http://www.tomiokaracing.com/index.php/products/exhaust/equal-length-exhaust-manifold-w-up-pipe-for-subaru.html

http://gtspec.com/product/gtspec-gen-iii-equal-length-exhaust-manifold-ej20-ej257

each of those are identical in every way, except a different name on the box, and the gtspec doesn't come with heat wrap. Get the gtspec and get you own heat wrap, as i'm not impressed with what came with my tomei el headers (same exact wrap comes with the tr headers).

+1

I would say it really depends on your exhaust setup. With my perrin rotated dp, perrin ELH, and Invidia quad tip there is significant drone at highway speeds (from about 55 and up).

The best thing you have going for you fighting drone is the stock CBE. If you don't like the drone now don't change the cat back. The cat helps to a degree as well.

My headers didn't go on till the invidia went on so I have no idea if it makes things louder or quieter. I just know your car can certainly be loud with ELH installed.

Frankly I am surprised your car drones at all. When I was stage 2 I had an invidia catless down, perrin mid and y, and stock cans. I thought it was quiet. Different strokes.

Here's me on my way home from work today. Just easy everyday driving to give an example of how it really is, since every exhaust video out there is at WOT and at high RPMs.

This is my setup:

Tomei 252/252 cams

Tomei EL header/UP

CNT catless DP

Perrin mid/y

Prodrive cans

I think I'm going to do the Perrin Dual catted downpipe to keep the raspyness away since my STi genomes tend to get really raspy with a high flowing exhaust according to youtube videos
