Why does my frontend sit so high?!

I had the same thing on my old 98. I swore it was the outback suspension. I think there was about 1.5" difference between the two at that time and I had the same ground clearance as an outback in the front. I can't help on anything though.

I had this problem when I first got the car. In the trunk where the spare tire sits, the drains for excess water gets clogged. Pull the carpet up and make sure there's not a pond in there. I had a big pond, and drained it, then it sat normal! Good luck!

OP, In case you are still in doubt, try this measurement: Between the bottom of the spring perch basket, and the top of the colar that has the lower mounting bolt holes, along the actual damper tube, if the distance is 5.5 inches, you have an Outback strut. Legacy strut should have a 1-1.5" shorter measurement.
