PieceOfChum
I wanted to know if a 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4 wheels will work with a 2008 Legacy 2.5i SE model. The tire size is the same I am googling it now but was hoping somebody migh have actually used this setup and would know and could comment on how well it worked. Thanks
MasAyinde
...you do know how wheel dimensions and bolt patterns work, right?
PieceOfChum
No I am new to this whole second set of tires for the Winter thing. Trying to figure it all out now.
MasAyinde
are you new to cars also? I'm just trying to get an idea of the knowledge base here
BAC5.2
Be careful. Using SRT-4 wheels will make your car FWD. Not ideal for snow use. JesseH
I hear SRT4 wheels also render the rear power windows useless.
PieceOfChum
Ha ha okay I don't think the wheels have anything to do with the drivetrain being AWD versus FWD. Second JesseH I don't have a rear power window and if it became useless because of my tires then I would a whole different level of help. I understand tire sizes fine I know the bolt patterns need to match and outside of that I am not sure if I should be concerned with anything else. BAC5.2
You were warned. Just thinking about it made your rear power windows stop working! Soon, you'll be buying massive quantities of hair gel and baseball caps with extra stiff bills. Once the sunglasses hit, there will be no going back. MasAyinde
Srt4 wheels will never fit on a Legacy http://i.imgur.com/ppK8J.jpg

dudeondacouch
SRT-4 wheels absolutely fit, but you have to turn them around backwards because the offset is different.
boymk123
I heard 2 front wheels are double the size of the rear one, on a SRT.. so BAC was right, you will get FWD!!!
PieceOfChum
Everything I am seeing suggests that the SRT4 rims and tires were the same size front and back. Also I am not sure what you mean by turn them around backwards. I believe the offset for the SRT4 rims is 45mm and the offset for the Legacy 17 inch rims is 55mm so I am not sure that a 10mm offset is going to make a big difference as I am pretty sure the tolerance for an offset is 10mm. scoobydoobie
SRT 4 bolt pattern is actually 5x100 also.
contractkiller
even though they will render your car FWD, it will up the HP to 1000 FWHP... what did u mean when you said. it felt like i was driving a civic? did u mean the car felt like it was more dependable and it was getting better mpg's? planelazy
You can make them fit by drilling new bolt holes with a dremel
BAC5.2
You can make them fit by drilling new bolt holes with a dremel Plasma cutter, too. joelwatts
jaysus. these guys are harsh. i don't know if i would try it w/ a 10mm off set difference. often times thats more than the actual space between the brakes and the wheel. seems a bit too close to the calipers. I'm a native of South Carolina. I am a dying breed.

JesseH
Lower offset is closer to the fender, not the caliper. Noob. GTFO out of here with that. Lower offset wheels are closer to the road, not the fender or the caliper. The road is all that matters.
wpmarky
If the bolt pattern of the wheels you are looking at is 5x100, and the offset isn't smaller than +45, it should fit.
joelwatts
Lower offset is closer to the fender, not the caliper. Noob. Thought I was keeping with the theme. My bad. I'm a native of South Carolina. I am a dying breed.
turbo_dan
The wheels are only 17X6's, the largest tire you can safely mount on them is a 215/50/17.
