Official Ice Silver Metallic Thread

Recommended Posts

**EDIT: I will keep this thread as a modification journal..... Scroll down for additional pictures & mods (they will mostly be cosmetic)

The wait is over! My car finally came in :-) It is the first 2012 3.6R Legacy in WA state.

Ice silver looks a bit lighter than the old silver.

Per my request the car was not dealer prepped so sorry for the dirty pictures. I will post some additional pictures of it when I am done with the detail / prep job.

I am pretty impressed with 3.6R in comparison to my 08 Legacy 2.5i.

Clear Bra / 35% tint will be the next mods.

I have HIDs on order and already changed some of the bulbs to LEDs.

I am still waiting for someone to figure out how to operate fogs without the headlights..... (Any help on that front will highly be appreciated)

I guess I will keep updating this thread as I do more stuff to the car.

Yesterday was full clear bra (including rocker panels) & 35% Formula 1 tint all around.

She also got her very 1st wash and 1st tank of gas at 300 miles....

I am planing on doing a full detail & paint protection over the weekend to get her ready for rainy Seattle winters.

I also realized that there is an identical 2011 3.6R Silver in my neighborhood. I will get pictures of two cars taken side by side to compare colors....

Here are some pictures after wash, clear bra & tint. (1 week since delivery)

I really like those wheels. I wish they were standard on my 2.5 Premium.

I think I like my steel silver just a bit more. Glad to see you take care of your car. I try to give mine a wipe down with spray detail once a week. Hopefully I can fit in a proper cleaning before winter hits!

Congrats on the car!

Nice. It takes me ~8 hours for a similar full detail. In lieu of washing the door jams I've started using waterless car wash and I do it at the end. Although I don't do any specific treatments for black plastic or seals. What do you use?

Thank You.

On the Subaru I've used Zaino Z-16. I also recommended Adams Super VRT or anything made by SwissVax if you want to spend some $$$.

And a small tribute to my previous 2008 Legacy 2.5i Limited. The BEST looking Subaru I've ever owned. She still looked brand new after 3 years 40K miles of ownership.....

My coworker prety much stole her right before it's lease was up. I still get to see her everyday :)

Below is a pic taken after her last detail right before delivery to its new owner.....

Fanstastic. Great job detailing.

Our windshield had a wacky film on it when the car was new. It was like the factory or local dealership dumped liquid wax on it. The wipers would glide across it and it would get milky. I had to use Bon Ami powder to cut through the crap and get the windows sparkling. There were some other detail issues that the local dealer didn't do well on.

You did fantastic. Nice additions on the tints by the way.
