PKs17
Im looking at the specs on subaru.com, and noticed that the GT weighs in at 3477lbs/manual trans. And the 3.6R weighs in at 3587lbs with Auto. Both are limited models. Whats the deal here, i was under the impression that with the heavier 6 cylinder motor, and heavier automatic the 3.6 would weigh at least 300lbs more. Thats the case with most cars going from a 4 cylinder to 6. Anyone have more insight into this? Maybe the 3.6 is a really light unit?
apexjapan
The 3.6 isn't that much heavier than the 4, especially if you consider that the GT will have turbocharger, intercooler and other extras. Most of that weight difference is probably from the A/T rather than the engine. Physically, the 6 is only a couple inches longer than the 4.
