monkeyposeur
I gapped the piston rings. A good trick is to use the piston to set the ring depth. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/BE951694-4711-4333-9CA6-34D62F38C03D_zps9pmjaagi.jpg Then check with the feeler gauge. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/1A57D336-1FE6-495D-AB4A-B53A3F0AF5C3_zps1bxxnonu.jpg Sneak up on the proper gap with your trusty piston ring grinder. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/FDEC658A-A729-4637-9F1F-B5A4AFFB3AA1_zpsjtet7n4x.jpg

monkeyposeur
That looks wild! So will installing that kit allow your 4eat to hold more power? Is the kit expensive?
bcmaxx
the kit ups the line pressure, and quickens and firms up the shifts to prevent slippage and those long laggy shifts that untimately kills these, the added pressure suppose to help planetary burnup. from everything I've read it should handle my 2.2t now. I'll be running synthetic and a heavy duty transmission cooler ( recommend bypassing the rad) it is stated the 4eat cannot be adequately cooled by the rad cooler. I roasted 4th in my car early on, its holding a vf39 @ 20psi just fine in 1st 2nd and 3rd currently. going from 3.90 to 4.44 should also ease some stress. Cant wait to have 4th gear again. this will hold me over until I can get a 6spd in my price range. I have one but had to let it go do to emergency financial situation

MrTris
I'll rummage. I always forget I'm a forum member on there. The BBS was my first home. I almost miss it, but, then I remember I drive a nice car and have come up a bit. Still, roots. I know for a fact that 04-05 STI shit should work -- any reason you can't use that? s2baru
Going up, not down. Already mobbin 2inch spacers. But I have a bunch of 16inch tires than won't fit so thought was to switch the struts to something that I know will.

GTEASER
This Perrin is a medium run divorced wastegate, the Invidia with the bellmouth and splitter would be considered a short run divorce. CES makes a long run that goes all the way down to the lower bend with a completely separate wastegate pipe. Typically anything divorced will help control overboost by reducing the turbulence at the wastegate flapper and allowing it to control the boost being generated by the turbine better. These designs are just different ways of accomplishing that. People will say one is better than the other, but really it comes down to how all your mods, turbo and boost pressure you are running, work together. bcmaxx
got pulled over and hassled.. must repair: - loud exhaust - replace rusty control arms - have "unsafe lift" inspected so, off to the exhaust shop, to make it quiet , i have the new impreza control arms, just need to slam them in and the lift is forester swap bolt in, so theres really no "lift" as its bolted in oem parts haha, so I'll be just fine there. monkeyposeur
Gave the 22t a simple green scrub bath followed by a clean water rinse. I had to dry the bores fast because they were flash rusting. I dried the halves with compressed air and test fit the crankshaft. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/8B5758A5-BA0D-435B-AF72-24E4E23382EF_zpsqnsbuqnd.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/F93BD3EC-BDD5-4C7F-AF5F-1EFEEC765930_zpsdayslkod.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/5601CBD9-D67B-4789-AE12-228376049424_zpsrme7vlxa.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/2229887B-51B3-4598-8C70-BA92720B53C8_zpshm3n6gbd.jpg[/uR Worked on tgv deletes. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn41/henry616/Mobile%20Uploads/0FFAC1FC-09C7-481C-9089-9D689C0C636E_zpsh0kapvnv.jpg
