BAC5.2
They are both RWD, make silly power, and are decently luxurious. Both are in the same class. The AMG is an automatic. The V available in both transmissions (and you could have either). Both tick the option boxes at about the same price. Which do you buy? My heart leans towards the AMG, but my ass leans towards the Caddy. Th3Franz
I'd take the Caddy for more HP, but the Merc is a more solid car all-around I'm sure. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
Pricci09
Merc interior is far superior in terms of materials and build quality, Caddy is more fun
ShrinerMonkey
Take the Caddy so you can get a wagon.

StoplightAssassin
The E63 is a more appropriate competitor for the CTS-V. In either case Caddy FTW.
brilliant sleeper
My heart leans towards the AMG, but my ass leans towards the Caddy. That's exactly what I am thinking. Need to think about that decision a little more before I poll an answer. Love both cars soo much:wub:
ehsnils
If you are going for an AMG - why not the SLS Coupé? However - regardless of what you choose the depreciation will be heavy.
Penguin
If you are going for an AMG - why not the SLS Coupé? However - regardless of what you choose the depreciation will be heavy. Probably because the cars in question are both sedans. Also the correct answer is: C none of the above, wait for the new M5.

But Penguin hit the nail on the head...skip those 2 and get the upcoming M5. http://www.egmcartech.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/2012_bmw_m5_rendering_images_main.jpg
BAC5.2
But a dolled up M5 will tip $90k. That's a Honda Fit more than the other two! ShrinerMonkey
This is a Sedan-to-Sedan comparison. Well since you are starting out compromised on your body selection, I choose to bow out of the debate. Wagons FTMFW!

ohiotrojan
between these two, no brainer, the one with the manual.... i don't love the economy of either of these, and would go with other options, but just answering your question...

BAC5.2
I think a Legacy 2.5i can beat upon one of those. Don't be so sure. The windows will roll down on the C, and it'll just start shooting at the Subaru. ehsnils
Both the Mercedes and the BMW looks a lot better. In DC traffic, I say a personal helicopter FTW! The AH-64 then?
godwhomismike
I was invited to an AMG track event last year, and was given the opportunity to drive all of Mercedes' AMG vehicles on a racetrack. The C63 they had there had the performance package, and it was an incredible beast on the track. Out of all of the AMG vehicles, the C63 was the most fun. Sadly, I have not had the opportunity to drive the CTS-V, so I can not make a comparison between the two. I will say though that you can not go wrong with the C63. 05GT Guru
Both the Mercedes and the BMW looks a lot better. The AH-64 then? Looks are opinion. The new BMWs are not good looking IMO. I picked the merc because that car is sex on wheels. Beautiful in almost everyway with good performance. I love the CTS-V, I have driven the piss out of the ls6 version and it was a blast. But GM can suck my white ass with all the money they take from the American people and then tell us we should pay more for gas and products. BAC5.2
I think I'd lean towards the V as well. Ugh, tough choice. Bolksey85
CTS-V for pure speed. Benz to look good while going fast while remaining comfortable. I have a bit of traffic to deal with every day so the speed isn't so much a factor to me. I vote MB. http://www.dieselstation.com/pics/Mercedes-Benz-AMG-C63-car-walls.jpg
