Factory 5's new $15k Subaru sports car

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just came across this thread today actually. To clear up some questions,

The donors will need to be 02-07 WRX or 02-07 NA or 02-05 Forester XT/na. The Legacys will not work.

You can register these cars legally in the US. http://www.bipac.net/page.asp?content=tag_title_toolbox&g=SEMAGA

Kit will be around 9k Plus the cost of your donor. No paint on this car. They are doing the viper style gel coat so it will come painted already for you.

Theyve been busy finishing up the body panels, making sure theyre perfect. SEMA will be the release of their "Race" version. The coupe will come a little after. I wouldnt be surprised if they start sales in February or after.

One things for sure, this will be one heck of a quick car!!!

I want one real bad, but I think a house comes before a car.

but then.....maybe not...... Maybe I need to buy the house to build the car. That's the right way to think about it.

Below is an image of the 818R, which will be released in a few weeks at SEMA.

The street version will be a 2 seater, and have a more mellow roll bar rather than the cage you see on this one.

A soft top and roll up windows soon to follow as well (hard top coupe down the road).

That's HOT...

But, I'll keep my Miata...

don't think the 818 will work out well for a week long ragtop road trip.

That doesn't, however, rule out lots of drooling, and thinking of building one anyway... ;)

I am working with a racing bud on one of the first 818's. donor is a 2005 WRX rollover, already stripped and ready to go.
