Catalyst
Anyone ever try this or think it would even work with our tails? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1820318 My only concern is obviously the WRX has LED's that would shine brighter through the paint. I basically just want to get red tail lights, not the stock pinkish with chrome surrounds/lines. Currently have the Zagg overlays with the cutout ovals, but with tints and blacked out headlights, it's a tad too much on an OBP. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u173/lilitalygarbler/IMG_1777.jpg "This is an adventure." scoobyroo
I've been considering this as well, I don't want to go too dark but on an OBP our tails look extra pink. Subscribed for pics if you do it. Seems like it'd work just fine, I just am afraid to experiment.
Catalyst
I might be doing it this week if I have time. Could always just sand it off and polish it back to normal worst case. Looks amazing on the wrxs though. "This is an adventure."
PhilT
Use translucent red film, easier and removeable. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
Gire
+1 to what phil said. There are plenty of new wrx film solutions that look like that and are temporary. Same thing can be done with bulk film for the legacy.
Catalyst
Film is such a PITA to work with I see it as being harder than taping off the tails and spraying. Plus it looks nowhere near as nice IMO. Those WRX tails look OEM. "This is an adventure."
That Guy 2-1
that looks pretty damn badass! always hated the clear lights
king_j
what version of the overlays do you have (op)? i was thinking of getting the "tint" color with reverse cutout. but all red might look much better. could someone photoshop red film on a obp leggy? Catalyst
I got the Zagg SMOKE color with ovals and reverse cutout. I would go TINT color in retrospect. Heres an OBP REX with painted tails, love it. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b15/nhmtns/IMG_9454.jpg "This is an adventure."

Catalyst
Ok. These are obviously horrid excuses for pics but, it's all I gots right now. They came out amazing. Waiting until tomorrow to wetsand them down, that's why they don't look crystal clear yet. http://i52.tinypic.com/212a6g1.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/2cyk8cl.jpg Yea, I know the pass side overlay wasn't perfectly on... DSLR tomorrow. "This is an adventure."
SubaruTim
I like it, adds some contrast which is always good. All black is boring.

Catalyst
Just finished wetsanding them down. Seriously amazing, they look OEM, a nice dark red with no pink or chrome. Will take good pics later. "This is an adventure."
mdennett99
I did mine today. Def better looking than stock, but my crappy camera makes them look hazy. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e244/mdennett99/subaru/DSCF0188.jpg?t=1305404787
Catalyst
Nice! Wetsanding them definitely made them crystal clear and look OEM. So happy with the results. Love it on OBP. "This is an adventure."

Stock_Sucks
I cut mine open and painted the red lense silver, but you could paint the inside of the clear lense too. Then you wouldnt have to worry about paint scratches or wet sanding etc..
