Beanboy
Heading back tomorrow to the shop, figured I might as well ask group if there are any common areas that I could check before/during shop visit. Only happens after car is warmed up. Most noticeable if I go from coasting to light throttle in the 2.5K range. Nothing below and if it is happening above say 3K, it is tough to hear thanks to engine noise. First thought it is DP related, since it was moved out of way to drop transmission, and only happens when car warms up. Aftermarket 3" DP BTW. Any other areas that may cause the rattle? Transmission mount bolts/shifter mechanism itself? Thanks! -B http://www.standardshift.com
snow05gtRI
there's a head shield above the DP that has been known to rattle. check heat shields?
Beanboy
Well, just got back from getting the car on lift. Not anything making contact, a boo... Sounds like bearing internal to transmission now. Pilot bearing wouldn't make this kinda sound would it? Fact it only happens when it warms up has me thinking something internal which would suck. Bah! Going back in a few weeks to drain new fluid, and see what kinda flakes come out, hehe. -B http://www.standardshift.com
