Nadal4Hand
Just wondering why you traded in your '10 Forester? I love my wife's '11 TXT.
Silvergc8
I loved my forester. I love all my subies. but the one I had was a premium model with no navigation, pretty basic, not too fancy, which I didn't mind. But for the same monthly I got myself a legacy 2.5i premium, basically same engine, but 6 spd cvt trans, way better gas milage, navi, heated seats, electronic parking brake, harmon kardon speakers, dvd player which i modified to play while on the road for my passengers not me, paddle shifters, just another addition... heated mirrors, cupholders in a better place for me atleast, dual climate control, wood trim, gotta love it. See there's more to offer in a legacy atleast for me. when I went up north I filled up and when I got to the gas station somewhere up from Gardena, CA I was at 500 miles and gas pump stopped at 16.9 Gallons, I think the cap is 19.5 on a legacy, not sure on that correct me if i'm wrong. while in my forester I was getting no more than 350 on a 16.9 Gallon tank. Memories in my forester though.... I also took hwy 1 all the way back to Gardena from SF, took me 12 hours to get back... haha but totally worth it... RailKill
I never realized that SSM is darker than your "typical" silver car. I know that all paint has a different shade to it but I never realized how dark it actually is. Here is my car parked down the shore between someones Camaro and my mother-in-law's Nissan Rogue. http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x430/cblakes17/IMG_1865.jpg
ebo03
^^ Yes it is. I think its a great color. Now only if the quality and durability of the paint was better. I typically don't like silvers b/c they are too light. And I thought the graphite gray was too dark for my taste so I feel like I really scored a winner going with SSM. I looked at the GGM before finding my SSM. I'm a little crazy when it comes to cleaning my car and the SSM fit the bill. I would say the SSM is a happy medium between "typical" silver and GGM. My last car was a Obsidian Black '06 Legacy and I said never again to owning a black car.

zachb
not much done to it yet: tinted windows and cobb stage 1. looking for the right set of winter wheels, exhaust (looking for dual pipe mufflers-- the wrx/sti look) and suspension. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/zbaze/IMG_0237.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/zbaze/IMG_0238.jpg let me know if you have any good options for rims and exhaust!!! pics please! coppertone
Good luck on the dual muffler. Based on the size of our opening, there aren't a lot of choices. The dual ones that will fit will look like pea shooters. As far as wheels, please fill us in to what you are looking for as far as size, color, 3 piece, etc. Welcome and welcome. 2010 2.5GT limited is for sale. zachb
thanks guys. yeah-- i've had hard luck finding any duals that will work. in terms of wheels, looking for either 18s or 19s, silver or grey. in terms of style, i love the looks of the BBSs that are available on the STIs and the old OZ ultraleggeras... also a sucker for the newer Prodrive rims. I think a hyper silver or gunmetal would look fantastic on the SSM. Wanted to paint my wheels gunmetal but decided against it because I know I wouldn't do a perfect job and that would just straight up annoy me. zachb
i think grey on silver looks great. my old wrx had that combo and (IMHO) looked great... http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/zbaze/ZachsWRX00051.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/zbaze/Morettesside.jpg

minuccims
So Subaru is replacing SSM for 2012... to a lighter silver as in prior years :confused: Will not get another car with lighter silver.
eckseleven
So Subaru is replacing SSM for 2012... to a lighter silver as in prior years :confused: Will not get another car with lighter silver. Why? Just personal preference? I'm in line to get a '12 LGT in silver. My order was originally an '11 in SSM but the dealer couldn't get one. If there is a big downside to the lighter silver, maybe I'll switch. White was my second choice. I just want something that's easy to keep clean after having a black car for the past 3.5 years and figured silver was the way to go.
minuccims
Yup - just a personal preference. Had a 2004 legacy wagon in the lighter silver. Be sure to get a clear bra kit installed to protect the front.
