alexJay
I assume many of you have seen the "The Ultimate Auxiliary Lighting and Mount Thread" on NASIOC. However i didn't see many Leggys represented there, so i thought i would go fishing and see what is out there. So, lets see some auxiliary lights on some leggys I'll start, they are weak i know, but it's a start http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4110/5216571320_9b81734d95_z.jpg i am contemplating adding some serious fogs on too, here is a photoshop of what i was thinking http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5009/5215974681_de963a120e.jpg
TSiWRX
Nothing special from me - the setups on NASIOC are much more extreme, and I don't feel myself worthy of that thread. http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u259/TSi_WRX/120-2066_img.jpg Just a plain set of Hella FF1000 driving patterns on a Carr Light Wing. I Y'ed the two lamps'wiring together and made a Q/D from a trailer-brake connector, which is both cheap and completely weatherproof. I don't have much occasion to use these (which is my winter-only setup), so I've wired them to be completely independent of my other lighting. I drew inspiration from brother sourdough ----> http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/carr-light-wing-and-hella-500-black-magic-setup-146823.html?t=146823&highlight=carr+light+wing ---- Hopefully, outahere will post here, too. alexJay
the setups on NASIOC are insane, i can't image hanging $1000s of dollars in lights off the front of my car unless i was in night rally's. I like what you have, the more i think about it the more i want to put some hella 500ffs on mine too
outahere
I have a pair of Hella FF50 driving lamps in the front, with 65W bulbs, wired to come on with the high beams. In the rear I use a Hella 55W FF75 as a back up lamp, wired to come on with the factory BU lamps when reversing (the parking lights or headlamps must be on). 100% HID free. :p:p:lol: But I do have the factory LED lighting. http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=747&pictureid=4194 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=747&pictureid=4195 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=747&pictureid=3951
theflystyle
very nice and clean incorporation of the lights into the grill. ever think to tint them to match the grill when not in use?
outahere
No tint for me. Cuts down on light output.

Spoonwacker
*BUMP* for having just come across this thread...I've got the Rally Innovations bar. For whatever reason (possibly from not playing nice with my RalliTek skidplate), it doesn't fit snugly against my bumper, which necessitates the use of a strap wrapped around the radiator support to steady the bar. Right now I'm just running the FF1000s on the top with 100w bulbs. The lower mounts put the 500s a little too close to the ground for daily use. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t265/Spoonwacker/Light%20Bar/DSC_0751.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t265/Spoonwacker/Light%20Bar/DSC_0039.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t265/Spoonwacker/PacGP%20Trackday%203-3-10/DSC_0216-1.jpg TSi+WRX, I'm digging the Carr wing. A few questions - does it interfere with output from the stock high beams, and does it hold the FF1000s steady enough? I'd be afraid of too much shake from being out on the ends of the bar like that... sorry...this forum practically blows goat nuts so im not always on here.Team Pony Express POSTED FROM MY COMPUTER USING A WEB BROWSER

I'd be afraid of too much shake from being out on the ends of the bar like that... If it messes with the factory highs, I haven't noticed: likely because my 55W HID + HIR highs means that it simply all fills-out. So, on this one, YMMV. As for the steadiness, this is an area where the Light Wing can use improvement. Whether you'll notice it or not, though, will depend on how much you use it as well as where you use it. I don't use mine much at all, but even I've noticed that on rutted roadways, there's shake. If you have the lights on for extended periods of time, that might drive you crazy. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
Shotokan1509
tSorry the Subaru can't get big lights hung off the front, Outahere's setup is subtle enough... the big auxilary lights can stay on my truck http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/13532/2283962480052327601S600x600Q85.jpg I have a pair of Hella FF50 driving lamps in the front, with 65W bulbs, wired to come on with the high beams. I may steal this idea, happy with those lights? Is that a custom made grille? Would you change anything? I was trying to think if I could find a set that would sneak above or below the factory wings in the grille.

TSiWRX
Those lights stayed on the car year-round. I used them more than I thought - driving to and from shooting ranges can get kinda "gee, I wish I had more light" every once in a while, when it's more rural. There's a bit of vibration on looser surfaces, but it's really not that bad at all given the type of mount. The LightWings stayed on the car solidly until I removed them in November of last year, when I traded the car in (and the Q/D really made things a snap , I really shoulda used that more!). I met the buyer of the car, and I believe that the selling dealership filled those holes - that's really the only downside. I've thought about re-installing on the Tribeca, but honestly, nowadays, you'd probably actually be even better off just mounting an LED solution, which would not necessarily require an external mounting solution unless you wanted it. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

tildowns
Actually they are an Ebay find. Thinking of mounting them lower, below the bumper for better light. They are more like high beams now.

DaveWilson
about a month ago I made a light bar or my GT, last night I finally took off the bumper again to get some photos of how it is mounted. Please excuse the farmer welds, I live on a farm so I'm allowed to hahaha NOTE: The nuts that go on to the threaded rod to hold the bar on aren't shown in the third photo, in case you are confused how it is held on. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5548/11019134545_29bf0f0583_c.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7323/11392153955_54464dc477_c.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3817/11392160376_3d1cf75f96_c.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5525/11392148415_decc01ac9f_c.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7342/11392147015_c1bda428e0_c.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3803/11060249424_e8067a398d_c.jpg
