monkeyposeur
Hmm, my good buddy is a super bad ass awesome welder. He welds ski lift towers, wheelhouses, and everything else. I should have him fab me up a few braces. What are the specs for the master cylinder brace? I just asked you about it in another thread. But maybe I should have my buddy make us some. I should get him to make me a cam sprocket tool too. He'd be down.
eekay
He could probably make you a cam sprocket tool in like 5 minutes. They look really easy to make. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
monkeyposeur
Oh, and strut tower braces too! And frame braces... lol.
eekay
Frame braces would be nice if you could find a really good way to make and mount them. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
sqc151
earlier 4pt braces fit our cars. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-3338-1323339493209.jpg
eekay
Hrm. Define "earlier", please. I'm definitely interested. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
sqc151
maybe i worded it wrong. the front part where it bolts on is different than other subies. (note: im using sti control arms)
sqc151
i want the ones that go from front to back on both sides. that will really tighten things up under the chassis.
eekay
Ah. Okay. I see what you mean. I've definitely thought about making my own. It really wouldn't be that difficult. It's just the triangular work that needs to be done. Of course, using another brace as a guide would make that a lot easier... Which year STi control arms are you using? IIRC, the later year control arms no longer fit our cars? My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
Legacy Wagon
You can! Anyone can! It's actually pretty easy and straight forward. Just a little practice required. You have to be willing and able to put down the money for a welder though. And I'm not. I also have no room left in my friend's garage to store it haha Should be the 98-01 aluminum control arms, right?
sqc151
04 STI control arms. just about everything under my car is for an 04 STI.

I also have no room left in my friend's garage to store it haha Should be the 98-01 aluminum control arms, right? Ah. Fair enough. Just find a friend that has a welder and play with it a little. Bring some pieces of steel over there and just practice welding them in different shapes and angles. I'm sure you'll be able to do it. 04 STI control arms. just about everything under my car is for an 04 STI. Okie dokie. That's what I figured. This also reminds me to find/order some '04 STi brake caliper brackets. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
Legacy Wagon
04 STI control arms. just about everything under my car is for an 04 STI. Dang, didnt know they still used the aluminum control arms on the newer STi's. Haven't gotten to climb underneath one. I, being poor, also have poor friends it turns out haha Cool though. They'll give you a bit wider stance along with shaving some weight and stiffening it up with that brace...man, your car is gonna be freakin tight. And yeah...I gotta find a friend with a welder.
