  1. Oh sweet! Didn't see that. Yeah, looked inactive at 2 months. Even a year seems kinda that way, but cool that it had at least some history Yep. Owned a lot of Subarus over the years and this Legacy is still my favorite

  4. Ah, sorry. I was talking to JimBo. He's got a right hand drive model with the tall roof. Was the carrier bearing on the driveshaft going bad or something?
  5. Sold the car a few years back. Bought it back about a year ago for $600 cause I missed it so much. Stuff done since getting back: Replaced ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, whiteline steering rack bushings, moog front endlinks, customish whiteline and poly rear endlinks, new flex plate, rear cam seal, rear main seal (viton), oil separator cover, valve cover gaskets, pcv valve t-connector, injector 3, injector 4, air filter, fuel filter, re-soldered knock sensor, 98 outback KYB struts, battery, cleaned and repainted some areas, replaced the motor/regulator in the driver door and the window control housing, re-soldered the back of the AC panel, upgraded the factory aux stereo to a nicer Kenwood one and got some Rockford Fosgates for it, replaced rear wheel bearings, added a receiver hitch...I know there's more. Either way, it's looking pretty good these days. I plan to bring it to Subifest in November. I have new tires and after all of the suspension work it still feels a bit floaty. I'm sure it's due to keeping old springs and having it lifted to begin with. Any advice on what I could do to have it less so? I'd love not to spend a crap-ton of money on upgrades at this point. I'm considering strut braces front and rear, but not sure how much that would help. I have WRX wheels on it with some Ohtsu 205/55's. Is the sidewall too high? Soon to be done when I get free time: Repaint the grille Replace the calipers, rotors and pads all around Repaint my WRX wheels Install my 4 Hella's...probably...if I can find a good way to mount them that's removeable.   6. A few years ago the gen 1 forum was full all the time. It seems most people have gotten rid of their Legacy's these days. Crushed or whatnot. Welcome to the club though Nice wagon by the way. Where was it imported from?
  7. Bought new Outback struts and a bunch of other parts. Hopefully I'll have time to do the work on it soon. It's needs some crap. Gotta figure out why my AC randomly turns off or to vent. Currently hitting the top of the dashboard will occasionally fix it, but it's not a long term solution
  8. I'll be the first to admit that I'm electrically dumb. You could always ask the guys over at Legacycentral
  9. I mean they make specific ones that should hold that MAF, but I cant see a custom design working well without having that piece it connects to from the WRX since you wont get a good mounting surface for it otherwise.
  10. I was just noting that it was a different kind of MAF than what's on the Legacy. The Legacy has an enclosed unit whereas the WRX has a MAF that drops into the tube.   11. I'm pretty sure the MAF in a WRX is much smaller. It was just a sensor that stuck in the pipe instead having its own enclosure. scoobydoo73: I hate that freakin blue. My brother had it in his first Subaru haha Looks good though. I like those tweeters in the doors. Seems like a good spot where you wont hit them. Looks good, man

  15. Yeah, more like "Out with the original". Funny how long those axles can last when they dont see off-road often.
  16. Gracias Needs repainted. My other one has the really bad rust at the rear of the driver fender. Almost gone. Cant even put the mudflaps on it. That's a shame :/ What year did you buy them from? I think the newer cars have longer roof racks.
  17. Yeeeeaaaah boooiiiii! Got it a few months ago. I like it Little 5 speed AWD one. It's got 220 on the cluster and drives better than I'd expect anything with that many miles on it to drive I may have a picture. Turns out I only had crappy cell phone pictures haha I haven't done much exterior-wise. I pulled the engine, replaced all the seals, changed all the fluids and stuff...maintenance. The only things I've done other than that were painting the rims and painting/installing a turbo grille on it.   18. Dang. The new ones have brackets. I wonder if I even need to put the brackets from the new one on my old Legacy then haha And roof racks are pretty sweet. I threw and old Schwinn up on the top of my green wagon last night
  19. They dont have those metal brackets on the ceiling of the old ones for the bars to bolt to?
  20. The brackets underneath are going to be the hardest part. I dont know if the older ones had them though. I pulled mine off of a second gen so I'm not sure if it'll fit my car or not.
