Lumbar support on Seatback broke today...

I took the car to the dealer last Friday and showed the manager and his tech what it feels like and he agreed that I was right and possibly the cushioned was wrongly cut. The dealer is ordering the new seat for me and hopefully has it replaced soon. BTW, I also had Subaru of America called the dealer to make sure they treat me right. =)

I believe the 10-11 button has the icon on it showing that it's for the Lumbar, but that went away for the 12+ (same button, but without the picture on it)

 

It's definitely a cable actuated mechanism - not at all uncommon to break. Repair procedure has been documented in this thread:

basically, you can get the OEM parts and replace the broken ones, or use chain quick-links for what should be a longer lasting repair.
