  1. Followed a 5th Gen LGT down the hill on VT Rt 100 North coming into Waterbury this afternoon. Aftermarket exhaust (at least tips), but otherwise clean GGM (at least from behind). If you're here, I was the blue FXT behind you coming down the hill and, if I got too close, it was only to see if a dual-exhaust 5th Gen was a GT or a 3.6R. My bad, and not like I can see the scoop from astern. Any chance that ride has over 150K miles (or well more by now) and an RCE Blacks/Bilstein suspension combo? Always wondered where my GGM 5th Gen ended up almost 3 years ago now.
  2. I found him (the one I posted about earlier with the Harpoon Beer bumper sticker)!!! Ripstik will grok the exact spot, the Mobil station across from Lang Farm Plaza in Essex, VT. I had finished up with my grocery shopping at Hannaford and needed a road soda, so I hit the Mobil station. I hop back in my rig and, while clearing mirrors, notice a 5th Gen LGT hood scoop. Shut the Fozzy down, hop out, and meet the dude. Mid/late '30s is my guess. Gave him the legacygt.com URL and wish him well and please join us. Says he has 114K miles on his; they must be light miles because she looks pristine. Wasn't sure of the color before (mud season), but she's black. Hope he comes here after some large fat man with no hair and an orange polo walked up to him at a gas pump. Wife/GF/POOSSLQ stayed in the passenger seat and probably thought I was a criminal. That's the third 5th Gen LGT I've ever seen in VT beyond mine and only 2 of them had VT plates.
  3. You: 5th Gen Black LGT, Harpoon sticker on rear bumper. From the license plate, you've owned it 6-12 months. Me: Blue '16 FXT right behind you. Where: Lang Farm Plaza, Essex, VT. You headed for the restaurant/apartment side; I went for Hannaford. When: Today (9 JUN 2017), roughly 2 PM.
  4. Grandma's car was free. She gave it to the wife (she's wife's Mom) specifically for my daughter's use when she took herself off the roads (thank Bob she did it voluntarily). Last thing you want with a 19-YO is a car with a loan against it, which means FULL insurance. The Honda doesn't have collision coverage, as the first off-road will total it anyway. At least its airbags got fixed. If certain financial projections come about, though, I do foresee a Crosstrek XV in the daughter's future. Given the minimal price difference between new and used here in VT, it makes sense just to go with new for the warranty.
  5. Yeah, but my only kid is in college and has her own car (Grandma's '02 Accord).
  6. Nah, if you're going to spend kilobucks on a shooting brake, take this one:
  7. Hmm, with Buick's new entry, what say y'all to a Buick Regal Wagon GNX??
  8. Well, if flat-8 is what you want, go roll the couch for several million $$ in pocket change and get yourself a Porsche 907 or 908 and hang it out the stern. Not sure if there's ever been a flat-8/10/12 that didn't come from Zuffenhausen or Maranello.
  9. I put about 45,000 miles on a Blackstein combo over the lunar landscapes of Vermont and the combo never did "wear in". I've said it before, but Blacksteins should be reserved for those who only see pavement as smooth as a baby's arse (i.e., where they were designed/tested).
  10. Any time you want a guide for the proper lines on 117 from the Circ to I-89, just look for a QBP Forester XT bearing a plate that looks a lot like my forum name. By that time the tranny is warm and is in S#, so I'm ready to roll.
  11. Keep your eyes open for a QBP FXT with a license plate that looks a lot like my forum handle.
  12. C'mon up to VT and I'll wave from my QBP Forester XT. Haven't seen a 5th Gen LGT since I traded mine in last October.
  13. There's a '10 LGT at Burlington (VT) Subaru, but you'll have to hurry. She'll be wholesaled, so likely will be gone by Tuesday (assuming a tech doesn't buy it).
  14. Don't worry, I'm not leaving the Subie family. Time to get my eyes up out of the nighttime glare and a Forester XT will do that nicely.
  15. With any luck (and skill in negotiations), there will be a 2010 LGT available at Burlington (VT) Subaru this weekend.
  16. I've seen the same blue 5th gen in town as well. It's got VT plates so there's a new LGT in town.
  17. Saw "the other" 5th Gen LGT around 4:10 this afternoon. You were heading south on US 2/7 and were about a 1/2 mile before the light at Blakely Road in Colchester. Plate starts with EE (I think). I was driving daughter home from her successful driving test, so there would have been absolutely no reason for you to notice a dark green 2002 Accord (a/k/a her car).
  18. That was me picking up 5 quarts of German Castrol at AutoZone for Friday's oil change. If you hadn't been rocking NJ plates I might have waved or something.
  19. The few I've seen in VT have all been black or GGM (like mine).
  20. Saw a black 3.6R in Montpelier, VT today. Given the stuffed animals and box of snot rags on the back deck I doubt the owner even knows this site exists.
  21. Coming from VT we think all of you suck at driving.
  22. Come to NW Vermont and we can trade spots. I've seen 3 5th gen LGTs in my area in the 5 1/2 years I've owned mine and one of those was for sale at the salvage title losers down the road from the house.
  23. Car: 2010 LGT Limited in GGM Age: 50 Job: State financial regulator Miles: 126,000 (this week) The LGT is my 3rd Subie, all turbos. '01 WRX died in '06 @ 130K while fully protecting wife & daughter in a head-on crash (the opposing Daewoo and its driver were nowhere near as lucky). '07 WRX was a Monday/Friday car and the seat horns poked my fat ass, so I ditched it at 65K and bought the LGT. Wife now has '14 Forester and I'm close to buying '15 FXT Touring. Mods: -factory fog add-ons -Blackstein combo -Osram Ralleye 65w low beams, Phillips HIR 1 high beams -225/50-17 snows on TireRack steelies (no TPMS; I know when a tire needs air) -225/45-18 Conti somethings on stock rims (not at all a sporty tire, but I need a big UTQG number in my line of work) Needs: -!()@*#&!()*@ lumbar is busted again (#2) -sunroof sensor switches (in the track) FUBARd again (#3) -need to swap out #3 coil pack (I've got spares, but no time) -some time on the RF brake disk as it's got a vibration likely from a combo of overtorque and buildup -dreadfully needs detailing, but she's a working girl Wants (If I don't trade): -Cobb (which prolly means new clutch @ 126K) -EDM LHD stock HIDs Stupid pr0n fantasy want: -High-quality respray in the shiniest WR Blue Mica one can find
