trevorno
Hi, I looked at other threads involving automatic seatbelts, but so far no luck. I just bought a '93 legacy. The driver's side automatic seatbelt doesn't work properly. When it stopped working, the previous owner said he had pulled it all the way back and left it there. There was about 8 inches of the cable that had spooled up outside the track there. When you open and close the door, I can hear the motor working for about 1/2 second. When i pulled the trim panels off, I can see the cable move about an inch when the door is opened and closed. I've got an appointment with the dealer in a few days, but I thought I'd pole the great minds in the forum for any ideas.
sqc151
the dealer is going to rape u on labor. best bet, get a set of manual seatbelts from canada.
Legacy Wagon
I'd just leave that one on there if it stays in place. The pass. side doesnt work in my car. The dash light is on, but it's actually nicer having it broken in my opinion.
Gire
automatic seatbelts on tracks FTL. I never understood why they were so prevalent in the States... Just another motorized thing to have break, as is the case with your car.

trevorno
The dealer said my vehicle was made before the seatbelt warranty. They wanted $55 to just look at it. I'll try and fiddle with it, then probably put in manual ones. 6/11/10. just put in a new/used electric set I got from the junkyard. It was a little spendy, but it works perfect and the guy at the yard gave me a resonator for free.
rengeko
i just bought a '92 legacy with the same issue-any ideas where i could get replacement manual belts? i would prefer them anyway, the electric belts tend to slide on my and strangle me.
