Canyonero
OK so I just picked up my wrx wagon suspension for wagon. as i was doing so my friend also handed over his stock td04 turbo and up pipe and down pipe. So the question is can i use this stuff to turbo charge my outback? I am currently sourcing a top mount I/C, manifold, etc.... has anyone done this before? i am only expecting to boost about 6 lbs. pros/cons? Other alternatives? kaz98gt
I wouldn't even go with 6psi, it might be too much for the stock 2.5 to take. if you want to run a noticeable amount of boost, you need to build the motor up to handle more pressure. there's another thread floating around about turboing a stock 2.5, and it's full of stuff that you could do/not do, and any tips for where to go from here. Platinum_Racing
Your head gaskets probably wouldn't be alive long enough to cry.

something different
just get an ej255 or 257 engine with the ecu from a 04 xt or sti, but then your trans is gonna be unhappy.
Baddog
Problem with "just" getting those motors is the fact they are not very cheap.

Baddog
I will be turboin' my EJ22 to see what I can make out of it with 6 pounds. Yes I will be running a piggyback system. Curious to see what this can do. I have heard of it out doing 2.0L WRX's (stock of course).
Zues Marine
you'll definitely notice 6psi, some boost is better than no boost
Baddog
I really love the low end torque down little dirt/gravel roads. Can't wait to get boosted.

Baddog
That's what I like to hear. I am hoping to find a way to run it on E85. Bigger injectors/Pump and fuel rails?

Bassnectar
you know E85 will murder your mileage even though its beter for the environment its probably gonna be more expensive than running premium
Baddog
It's more for the fact of the lower combustion chamber temps and me running the stock EJ22 on a turbo soon. Trying to keep the motor alive and away from pre-detonation
