The Official Aftermarket Wheels Thread

Hey guys I'm thinking about going WIDE with my wheels. Want to get the Drag DR-31's in an 18X9. I know I am going to have to roll and maybe slightly pull the fenders in order to run them, but I was wondering what you guys think the best tire size as well as offset would be??? The car is sitting on stock Spec-B bilsteins with a set of Rallitek springs so its not dropped much. The Drag's are available in +28, +38, and +48 and I'm thinkin the +38's would probably be the best bet, but please correct me if you think another option would give me a better look in the end. I dont really want the tucked look, just want to fill up as much of the wheel well I can with minimal rubbing... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

(I have done a fair amount of searching, but was looking for a bit more of a specific answer...)

Well, if you do +48, it will require the least amount of fender modding, but you can run 38, and I think that'll be most flush, and look best. +48 will get you really close to flush, if not flush. I would run a 225/40 tire. You could run 235, but it require a lot more work and camber.

I would definitely run the +38 vs the +48. I had 18x8.5s with a 48 offset and there was not a lot of inboard clearance, so I would think that running a wider wheel would be close. If you're willing to do the fender mods, go ahead and do the +38 and roll/pull and run some negative camber.

Tire choice will make as much difference as offset when it comes to rubbing and clearance. Some tires run wider than others even with the same specs.

It's cool; I'm with the band

OK, so the wheels I wanted are out of stock everywhere, probably becuase they've been discontinued from what I've read. Im looking now at a set of Rota DPT's in Bronze but they are an 18X8.5 +48. I'm a little worried about the offset and wanted to get some more opinions...

Also if that WILL work, what size tire do you guys think would be best?!?

^ This. Helped me a ton on fitment questions before. First hand experience tho, those DPT's will fit. I run 18x8.5 +48 Rota SVNs w/ 225/40/18 Federals, on Tein H-Tech's and -1* of camber all around. No rubbing at all. And the federals run wide. They are probably the same width, if not wider than most other brand's 235 series tires.
