H ive heard that you shouldnt wax ur car for atleast a month after getting a fresh coat of paint to give the paint time to dry. otherwise you will always have very soft paint and it will scratch very easily... mite be worth checking out on the paint

thanks and eclip we tested a spot out (behind the plate) it came out really good, did it 2 ways, first we wet sanded it with 2000 git, then used rubbing polish which didnt work out to well then we tried clay bar then waxing which worked out great, it didnt scratch when we tried it with our finger nails plus im in florida and its been mad hot lately about 90 degrees lately i parked it in the sun to bake it

you did the outback bumper job RIGHT. looks flawless, mad props to you. the only thing I'd change is the grill; you gotta get some badge in there or something! It's hard to tell if that's the bracket you can see or if there's even mesh in it or whatever, but that's only a small thing. for a rattlecan+clearcoat job, it shines. so...I need to repaint my bumper now :) too many rock chips and stupid crap

i have decided if i am gonna fix my rusts, i should just repaint the whole car anyway cause thats what ill end up doing any way. so i guess i dont have to macth my color. ill be doing it the same way as you but just with a single stage urethane paint. what COLOR!! dark apple candy red. or is that alot of $$$ for 3 gallons

Agreed, I would put a clear coat on it. don't want all your hard work going to shit because of something as simple as clear coat.

It looks REALLY good though man!!

Im loving the Outback front bumper sooo much!!

Great job.

Also, are those the stock Outback fog lights?

If not, what are they and how did you mount them?

And that front lip!! Did you make that? Out of what?! IT LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD!!

thing is rustolem doesnt make a cleatcoat in quarts and doing it in rattle can doesnt seem like a good idea, automotive clearcoat will cause it to bubble up from what i read so i really dont wanna risk it

http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html

where i got the idea to do the job in the first place but he used a foam brush, i used a compressor and spray gun at my buddies house

as for the fog lights they are pilots from autozone right now they been mounted thou the hole for the outback fog lights should be we're gonna re do it since they shake wayyy to much when im driving so we're gonna pull off the bumper and drill a hole, doing it the right way

the lip yeah home deport :spin: it hides all the scratches under the bumper from how low my car is, i rub too much so im thinking about rising it back up an inch :dm:
