abakja1
That would get me a ticket in Hawaii....Anything colored "blue" for lights would issue a ticket,.. Its just the damn cops that are giving "modders" are hard time for now even for things like +1 rims, OEM wings on STIs, etc,..cops issue tickets for aftermarket wings on STIs for example, and drivers have to explain they are OEM,...Drivers goto court and get exempt,..but its just the hassel of it all,.. TRS
They're not blue when turned on. The lights themselves aren't blue, it's just a reflection of the blue colored tip on the bulb. You'll see the blue reflection if you stoop down right in front of them or if you back up far enough away from the car, especially in bright daylight. They won't be as vibrant as in the pictures as the effect was really enhanced by the flash of the camera.

RockyMtnGT
BTW how much of a pain in the ass was it change the fog bulbs...Should I plan on jacking the car up at all? Thanks in advance...
DeepFreeze2
Either that or use a lift if you have access to one. It can be done otherwise, but having the room/space makes it easier. Or you could take teh bumper off. YA RLY!!! Home of +2500 useless posts!!!!
TSiWRX
^ +1 Roundboy's method involves tearing down quite a bit of material, but is a good method for those who have trouble visualizing what they're going after: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15343&highlight=fog In post number 7 on that thread, I detail going in "from under," without even jacking up the vehicle. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
RockyMtnGT
Ok cool... My car is going in for iON springs (as soon as I get them from group buy #3) So i'll do the fogs/springs/HIDs all at once while I have access to a lift... Thanks for the info! RockyMtnGT
I personally think PIAA's are rip off i had PIAAs in my lightning and it was not as good as people said or advertised this time i went with eurolights.com's bulbs i saw'em in my buddy's cobra and loved it a lot cheaper than PIAAs too here are some pics I just got my order from eurolights.com! So far I only have the high beams in, they look sweet! Very happy with the price too. I'll post some pics as soon as I get the fogs and my hids installed. RockyMtnGT
^^ Here are some pics I shot in Steamboat last night. As you can see the H3 Ion Yellow fogs are a very subtle hue of yellow. They look and work awesome IMO. The 9005 "Xenon" highs give the headlights a "blue" look when they are off, but light up bright white when they are on. My buddy who was following me in his Wrangler up Rabbit Ears Pass commented on how my high beams seemed to "light the whole side of the mountain". We hit some snow and heavy fog on the way up as well. All I can say is that I am super happy with the both lights!! Here are the pics. It was snowing and not really dark yet. My low beams are still stock until I get my HID kit. I don't have any pics of the car with just the high beams on yet. http://img421.imageshack.us/img421/2345/dscf00960aa.th.jpg http://img421.imageshack.us/img421/9402/dscf00921py.th.jpg http://img421.imageshack.us/img421/2842/dscf00938gw.th.jpg

jc51373
Colortemp on te PIAA lights too yellow for me...Eurolights look perfect and price is right. Just want a subtle yellow effect since I live in MA and people are the biggest a-holes on the road in all the 50 states-trust me.
RockyMtnGT
Hehe, I'm from jerzy originally...so I know how those "Mass_oles" can be on the road... j/k j/k Anyway I went out and took a few more shots after washing the salt off of her... Here are the fogs and lows together. The 1st shot is the beam pattern, you can clearly see the yellow light with it's purple edge from the ion coating on the bulb. The 2nd shot you can clearly see the "blue" hue from the xenon high beam bulb in the housing. The 3rd shot is basically what you would see if I was about to run you over:icon_bigg http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/6514/dscf00070kn.th.jpg http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/7968/dscf00051ck.th.jpg http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/8462/dscf00031pl.th.jpg Here are the highs and lows on together (the lows stay on even when the highs are on, but the fogs go out in case anyone wasn't sure ) The 1st shot hopefully you can see that the high beam bulb is "whiter" light. The 2nd shot is basically what you'd see if I was about to run you over with my high beams on... http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/7211/dscf00019ty.th.jpg http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/9030/dscf00025mm.th.jpg The highs are definitely whiter (and look cooler hehe) but I cannot say for sure that they are SIGNIFICANTLY brighter than the stockies without doing a side by side comparison. I just don't want to mislead anyone. I AM VERY happy with the bulbs! esp for the price Al
TSiWRX
One question for you, how was the install? Do I need a lift, or a jack? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15343&highlight=fog Here, RoundBoy describes how to attack this issue "from above." In post #7, I cite how to do it "from below." Although neither jacks nor ramps are needed (particularly if you can find a slight "ledge" to park the car over - be sure to chock the rear wheels, though!), it can make your life easier, but as you can see, I easily completed the switch even on perfectly level ground. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
jc51373
Thanks for the pics, very helpful in making a decision. Now if I could only sqaure away people that flash me with my fogs on, even when the weather is bad I get flashed. Fog light envy if you ask me. I am considering buying a 100,000, 000 candlewatt power boatlight and strapping it to my hood with a toggle located on the dash for a real blast of light...kiddin. Thanks man

TSiWRX
^ Yes, by "going underneath," as I mentioned. Did you read my referenced post (linked through post #7) ? <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
RockyMtnGT
^ Yes, by "going underneath," as I mentioned. Did you read my referenced post (linked through post #7) ? I went in using the "underneath" method using TSI+WRX's method. (Thanks man!) It worked like a charm. I just printed out his post and brought it outside as a reference tool. Basically hung the front of the car over a curb to get some wiggle room, popped out those plastic fasteners. (This was by far the hardest part, those things can be such a PITA!) Then just reached up and twisted the black plastic cover, popped out the old bulbs and popped in the new ones. 2 things *I suggest you wear sunglasses or something to help keep dirt from falling your eyes. *I also suggest you do the right side first, if you are righty -as it was suggested somewhere else. You will be working basically one handed while you are under there. The 1st side took me about 25 minutes. I was done with the second side in about 15. TSiWRX
Rocky and jc - Cool, Rocky! And thanks for the added tips - they're definitely well worth the mention, and I again thank you for suggesting them! The "handedness" I also might have messed-up on in my previous posts, and thanks there, too, for the correction. I'll be sure to mention this to others who come later! jc - NP. Best of luck, and I hope you have an easy time at this, too! <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

I gotta figure out how to post pics, although this is not a good time to show off your car where I live, salt and sh*t. Once I tint all my rear windows I will post some pictures. I am trying to get my Leg to look like the Liberty with those wheels and what not-eventually. Once step at a time. But it sure is fun to watch it evolve.
