If you could have any other Subaru...

I'm looking for a 97 LSI SVX to do an STI or Spec B 6MT conversion on. Failing that, I'll plan to do an LGT 5MT convo and call it a day.

hmmm. i understood 97 SVX. thats about it. haha. i would like mine with a turbo. alls i really know about turbos is that they use the exhaust for more power.

 

LSi is the top of the line AWD SVX (like Legacy GT Limited if you will). The 3.3L H6 SVX engine in stock form doesn't take well to turbo-charging, but it has such a broad and deep power band, that it almost doesn't need it with a good intake and exhaust on it. A better, and much easier route, is to supercharge it which would not require customized exhaust to plumb the turbo(s) in and not as drastic changes to the engine management to run it either.

Didnt really like foresters when I first got my LGT, but they are growing on me especially one in blue.

I had a 1992 SVX LS-L, which I bought in 1994 with 17,000 miles and sold in 2002 at 103,000 miles. I regret selling it. If Subaru introduced a similar car again, I'd buy. If I came across a mint 1997 SVX, I just might buy it. The SVX is an exceptionally fine vehicle!

The 2 above i posted are last gen, not the current one so they had 5MT's :)

 

You are correct sir - which is why I was optimistic the 2009+ FXTs would end up with either a 5MT or an STI-optioned 6MT. But *sigh* neither looks to be an option any time soon.
