AndrewZ
Hey guys & gals, Is there any reason I couldn't use the OEM clutch and pressure plate with the ACT streetlite flywheel? Thanks! Andrew
Underdog
As far as I know, the OEM flywheel isn't compatible with the ACT friction disc and pressure plate. I would assume that holds true visa-versa. Why not just swap to an OEM WRX clutch? The Crimson Dynamo
AndrewZ
Why not just swap to an OEM WRX clutch? To reduce the weight of the flywheel. According to FBP's website it's a 5.6 pound difference between the 07+ WRX flywheel and the ACT streetlight I'm very happy with my OBXT other than how slowly the rev's drop. My other manual car has 11:1 compression, lightweight pistons and a flywheel cut down like the prolite piece - I am just not used to shifting so SLOW! Waiting and waiting for the revs to drop
Underdog
What I meant was, use the ACT LWFW and an OEM WRX friction disc and pressure plate since they should be compatible. That way you can have your low rotating mass but with a stock-feel clutch. The Crimson Dynamo
AndrewZ
Thanks Underdog That's exactly what I did, I ordered the ACT streetlight flywheel with the OEM disc and pressure plate. Many thanks there to FredBeansParts (again) I'll be installing the combo this following weekend if it arrives by then. Where does everyone source their clutch alignment tools? Would they carry them at autozone?
