DrSpeed
eh, still rather be in my pickup on a snowy day. it may not get around a corner very fast, but tall tires, winches front and rear will ensure that I get there, even if I screw up. Guest heightsgtltd
Nice, but why does the guy in the F-150 have his foot on the gas during the tow?
TrueWhiteBoy
Turns out it was actually a towing competition. The F150 and Spec B tied a rope to each and started accelerating. The video is the result.
schwinn
Towing competition? I think not - the F150 was clearly in reverse, since the snow was flying forward from the rear wheels...
BoozeRS05
^ seriously..? I would have flipped to see the F150 in reverse flooring it while I'm towing, not a good idea. fishbone
Posted this on YouTube as well. Guy in F150 was kind of an idiot, you don't floor it like that when you don't have traction. It is counter productive, not to mention you run the risk of plowing into the guy that's pulling you out, if you happen to get traction.
DrSpeed
You newbies have no idea about vehicle rescue and recovery with another vehicle that is not a wrecker. Dial back to high school physics. The static coefficient of friction is always higher that the dynamic coefficient of friction. But flooring the pickup, you reduce the friction between the pickup and the snow, making it easier to pull it out. Had he not done that, I would have made it more difficult, if not, impossible for the LGT to pull it out. Additionally, with the tires spinning, and the LGT pulling it at the same time, you line up the pickup with the direction of travel of the LGT, making it a direct pull, instead of an off angle, maximizing pull the pull vector. Granted that dont want to have the throttle pinned when the tow strap goes slack, or when it hit dry pavement. But even then, you'll have time to recover. BANNED FROM THE TIKI FORUM.
