f1anatic
I am about to have my tranny torn apart and have some synchros replaced. Since the work will be done under warranty, i find it unlikely they will replace all. So i would like to know ; which one should be replaced - AS A PRECAUTION - besides my 3rd gear synchro, even if they may not seem worn out at the moment ? And yes, how many are there ? One for each gear (5) or one for each gear change (4) and where do I get the cheapest price for the ones NOT warrantied ? Thanks. I just noticed that I have 6665 posts so i am holding out a response until I come up with something evil.
rao
Syncros cost almost nothing and there is minimal additional labor so replace them all. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT

Well Fred Beans asked 370 for ALL of them; Gruppe-S wanted 350 and the dealer parts guy (at a different dealership) was gonna do 287 for 3rd gear synchro
rao
That's the price they were asking for ONE syncro? If cost is an issue, then do the lower gears ans skip 4th and 5th. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
