Which oil to use

Recommended Posts

Well it's been about a week now and no one has asked. :)

I found this link on one of the Honda sites.

Do you think this guy knows what he's talking about ?

Hey it could happen, the oil is flowing easier... so he's losing a lot less power that the engine would be using to drive the oil pump. :)

When I changed from 5w-30 to 10w-30 the other week I noticed a decrease in mpg.

Or it could have been because I like my new louder exhaust...

I experienced better fuel consumption figures when I changed to 5w30 instead of 10w30. The viscosity difference on a cold engine can have a significant impact on the fuel consumption. Especially when driving short distances.

I think my drop in mpg is due more to the fact I'm keeping my right foot a little lower on the loud pedal a little longer, ok may be a lot longer.

My shortest drive is tipically 20 miles to and from work. I may stop on the way home to do shopping, but once I'm home, I normally don't leave again.
