I use this for both of my JDM swap. Cost like $10 from Autozone. Works wonders.

Bought the same one but the holes didnt line up with the Sport Bumper. Its soft plastic so you can just drill it.

I bought an auto be more involved in my uninvolvedness . 200k+ Club

For all of our members with JDM Front Bumpers on their 05-09 Legacy vehicles, as you know the front license plate holes differ from our USDM Front bumpers. What bracket do you guys use? State of CA requires front plates so I need to find a bracket that will work with the JDM bumper and allow me to properly mount the license plate.

Please chime in.

This is what I use on my OBXT: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=132155492116&globalID=EBAY-US

I have the tilting mount on my WRX. If you can find one of these, grab it!

Hey if you can text me pictures of it on your outback I'd appreciate it. Or post it. That would be awesome.

Excuse the mess, I haven't had a chance to wash it since driving up to Portland.

Pardon my ignorance as I don't have time to read through this whole thread. But I haven't come across a solid answer.

Will usdm face lift grill fit prefacelift jdm bumper?

I installed this jdm 3.0r spec b bumper and I need a grill. I can source a usdm facelift grill locally for cheap and modify it if necessary. Just want to know my options before spending $$$ on a proper jdm grill.

Thanks guys

I dont know for certain, but i know the 08-09 Front End Grilles were slightly taller and the JDM Honeycomb would fit with modification. However the 05-07 Grilles were shorter, so the JDM Honeycomb would not fit. So since you do have the JDM Bumper, im like 80% sure the 08-09 usdm grille would fit onto your JDM bumper. (Not much help sorry) lol

Thanks for chiming in! I've been reading about that compatibility note a lot so I'd assume there's a way to reverse it. Since I have the spec b bumper, there's an inch gap at the bottom so I believe the larger size facelift grill would fix that issue.

I have a couple car shows coming up soon so if I can make a usdm one work that will be a lot quicker than waiting on shipping or spending the extra money for a proper jdm one.

NO USDM GRILL is compatible with a JDM BUMPER unless you cut, drill new holes. or modify it in some way. Save your self the headache of having a hacked up grill and just get a JDM Grill. There so many options to choose when you have the JDM Bumper on. Just IMHO.

  • 4 weeks later...

China is so good at making knockoffs. Who knows the quality of it. Although I've found that every aftermarket JDM Fender product or bumper is made from FRP so I don't know how to comment on the quality of JDM aftermarket body parts either. I guess it comes down to the production process? Who knows possibly DAMD, FUKUOKA EMOTION, and K2 also outsource their production to China?

I heavily researched the Chinese knockoffs when I had my legacy. They all seem to be built by the same company. I reached out to them and It seems they only make it for the facelift models. But they were offering me a really good deal to bulk purchase off of alibaba.

Did you need an extra black floor board to cut up? I have one and I'll be down there next week.

already cut mine up. Thanks, so they are a small part of some of the Cusco braces that seem to have more complete coverage.

I've heard a joke about Cusco and braces. If there are 2 bolts anywhere on your car, Cusco will make a brace you can put between them.

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of getting my s402 front bumper installed and have been trying to figure out what to do with the license plate holes. Filling the holes isn't an option because the bumper comes with a rectangular bump out for the license plate to mount to. I have been looking at license plate delete kits from Perrin and grimmspeed, but I'm not sure which kits will mount nicely in the rectangular bump out on the bumper. Do any of my jdm folks have some advice on a kit to use?

Thanks in advance,

Brett
