rlineberg
So I just posted a thread about doing a clutch job this weekend and head about the TSK3 sleeve. Seems like a good idea, but never heard of a retro-fit like this before. But then again, never had to deal with damaged snouts and TOB binding up. So who has installed one of these? I did a search and found people recommending them... but haven't found much on what people have though long term although another website claims they have sold 6000 of them over the past 5 years. http://www.smart-service.com/store-tranquil-sleeve-kit.html http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/products/5mt-transmission-snout-repair-kit-turbo-p-980.html

MOMSWGN
I put one in about 2600 miles ago, so I can't give you a long term report.
johnAWD
I'd never heard of it prior to reading this post. Interesting how the Subaru branded kit excludes turbo setups. http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/products/images/snout.bmp
MOMSWGN
They have the TSK1, TSK2, and TSK3. 2 and 3 are for the turbo models.
rlineberg
I installed this last night, but having gotten to drive the car yet. (waiting for new tranny mount to come in) I had to sand the quill quite a bit to get the sleeve to slide up onto it. Compared to the TOB I took off this one slides SOOOOOO much better on the quill. I am looking forward to getting the car back on the road to feel how the new clutch feels with this sleeve/TOB setup.
derffred
Doesn't the new clutch come with a new bearing?
rlineberg
Doesn't the new clutch come with a new bearing? It does, which means I had 2 to choose from. The TSK Sleeve though uses a TOB bearing with a different shaft diameter to allow for the sleeve. Meaning the TOB that comes with the clutch kit won't fit over the TSK sleeve.
