I would hate to see this go down in flames. come on someone take charge and get something locked down. As i assume many people are on the fence and a set date will be easier to make plans. I never set up a fun run without driving the route first to make sure everything is good to go, so I'll scope it out on 4/11, then move this to the "Fun Run Information Thread" as soon as I have a route fully locked down. So unless someone recommends another route, will plan to have a rally point in Temecula, (and points of departure for those who want to join up enroute along I-215 and SR-60) so by the time we hit Moreno Valley we should be fully linked-up car-wise. From there, we'd run over to Palm Desert, have lunch, gas up if needed and then run the Palms to Pines run up to Idyllwild. From Idyllwild, everyone can continue down through Hemet and back to Temecula (and dinner if you'd want) or just go down SR-243 back to Banning then west/north on your own Event sequencing: 0900-1030: Rally point - Meet/Greet photo line up 1030-1130: Cruise up to Palm Desert for lunch 1230-1330: Palms to Pines Highway to Idyllwild - Video flybys enroute 1330-1400: Depart Idyllwild for Photo-op at scenic overlook 1430-1600: Return leg to Temecula via Hemet Here's the maplink with individual legs and directions. If you do follow the link, be sure to zoom in on the Palm Desert to Idyllwild, and Idyllwild to Hemet portions (especially in "satellite view") for a good look at some of the best mountain fun run driving you can have with your clothes on. Have you though of reversing your route and hitting Idyllwild first then onto Palm Desert for lunch. From there you hit the 10 Fwy to Banning and head South on the 243 back to Idyllwild and retrace our steps to Temecula. More twisty bits and senic view this way. You exit Perris turn left from the offramp then right onto perris and the park is on the right. The problem your going to run into with it being saturday is those are baseball fields so they'll be using them saturday which will mean that parking lot is full. If its around Mo Val that you want to meet there is a HUGE parking lot that never has anyone in it where homebase closed in Moreno Valley.
