honestly i believe that dSLR are all pretty much the same ... its the lens collection/prices that should dictate which brand you go down... Canon/Nikon own like 90% of the dSLR market (last i checked) so there are a lot more lens out there and as a result a lot more used lens which help w/the price department... Nikon uses sensors designed by someone else (Sony i believe) while Canon uses their own. So again its more of how they feel in your hand & the lens collection imo -

it depends if you're printing, or if you posting them on websites/etc. Printing, 6MP is more than enuf even if you crop. If you place them on say like pb, flickr, etc 6MP is also more than enuf, saying that the place a size limit on the photos that you upload.... -

New is ~700. What so good? Well 18mm to 200mm will pretty much cover every focal length ya will need. It's built more solid than the 18-105 and the 18-55. Landscape family and sports. That's such a wide range. Landscape usually people use wide lens. Sports depends on indoor/outdoor. The 18-200 will do all you require but won't do anything particularly well. Good lens to use until you figure out how you shoot then you can get lens to compliment your style. -
