I like the SSR's as well been wanting those for a long time. I currently have stock wheels and some 06 WRX wheels in the garage that I am waiting to decide what to do with.

Anyway here are a few pics of mine at Cobb Tuning in Plano. Car is lowered 1.5 to 2 inches with megans but currently I just put BC/BR coils on it with the longer outback cartridges.

Also a few videos of my dyno tune on E85 if interested.

I am about to do the same swap this weekend. I have KYB Gr2 Legacy GT struts and brand new Stock OEM Legacy GT springs. I also got the LGT rear bumpstops.

Does anyone know if the front strut bumpstops are a different part number from the LGT to the OBXT? If not the same, are they just shorter? How much shorter?

Also, I have 18x8 rims with 48mm offset. Has anyone that has done this swap use these rim dimensions? Can I use 235/45/18 tires? What about 245/45/18? Will they fit under the LGT perch in the front?

Alot of questions I know, thanks in advance to anyone that has had these

experiences and can share.

Thank you to all that posted on this thread. It was extremely helpful.

I completed the job of swapping last weekend. Got my tires mounted on the 18" rims yesterday and got it aligned. Everything is in the green. Actually the rear toe was the thing that was out the worst. Front toe wasn't very good either. Camber wasn't too bad though. All good now.

A couple of things to note:

-KYB Gr2 OEM replacement struts front and rear(LGT replacement and the fronts are right and left specific)

-Legacy GT Wagon springs front and rear

-I definitley used the hydraullic jack/breaker bar trick on the lower rear strut bolts. Worked perfect.

-bought a new 17mm socket and ground in two "flats" to tighten the upper strut nuts while my wife hald the allen wrench.

-I would use the OEm brand spring compressor because it has the most travel. Specifically needed for the front.

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/OEM-25550-Strut-Spring-Compressor/dp/B000CMDPLM]Amazon.com: OEM 25550 Strut Spring Compressor: Home Improvement[/ame]

I actually augmented these two rods w/ one of these: after I did the first two OEM Brand.

http://www.harborfreight.com/macpherson-strut-spring-compressor-set-3980.html

The Harbor Freight version won't work very well in the front because they don;t allow for very much compression. One of them after the OEM brand works nice though.

-This is a big one. When putting the top plate back together on the spring. Please note that the new(LGT) front springs have about 100 degrees less "coiling" or rotation than the OBXT springs. I found this out the hard way. If the top plates aren't in the right location then it will bind on the body causing the spring to coil up and then slip making a popping sound. YOu might just put a mark on the upper plate before you take it apart that notes which way is front and back in relation to the lower mount. I took them apart three times until I figures this out. I thought it wasbad UpperStrut Mount Bearings so I orderd and installed new. It was a nice thing to have done but not the solution.

-I have 225/45-18 tires mounted on Rota Tarmac 3 wheels that are 18x8 w/ a 48mm offset. Wheel Gap is almost perfect. At least for me. Plenty of room to mount 235/45-18's. I will probably but that size next. Then it would have pperfect wheel gap. Maybe even 245's. I would have the store mount one up and check first though.

- I also did new front lower control arms and a passenger side CV Axle assembly.

Thanks again to everyone. Couldn't have done the job w/o the online assistance. Anyone have an Accessport to sell? 2006 OBXT.

Bummer, that's on coilovers!

I want to run Bilstein HD's with STi BBS wheels and 245/50/17. If 245/45/18's fit with a 17x7.5+48mm on stock Spec-B suspension, then 245/50/17 should fit.

I got the BC/BR coils on my car now. Been on for a couple of months. WOW what a difference from the megans, much more plush ride on softer setting.

HIGHLY recommend these for anyone running wanting to run coils.

You can contact josh at import image and they are 999. You can order them with a longer cartridge that is for the outback which will allow you to have car at stock height or LGT height.

LOVE EM so far!

Just swap in complete LGT springs & struts (wagon), change the rear bumpstops to LGT ones, get alignment & your good to go!

I see this thread is a mixed bag, some people are saying you NEED to use legacy sways, lateral links etc etc, but most are saying that's it's as simple as swapping in lgt springs/struts & getting alignment.

Anyone know the actual deal?

Legacy GT wagon suspension is on as of this afternoon with no problems:

I hit the bumpstops over a big bump so I need to do something about that, but aside from that little issue it is perfect. Car looks a little lower in back because I had the stock suspension and a 40 pound pelican case full of photo gear in the back.
