I tell myself that an N/A Forester is just an STI without all the fluff like, power, handling, style, racing heritage, and curb appeal.

Yeah well it is an 07 30k for a used car that is 47k new isnt too bad. Alot of american 07 cars have already lost more than half there value even with low low miles. The 08 impalas can be had for 12k with under 20k miles on them. So the corvette hasnt lost shit compared to those cars lol

Good time to buy a toy/weekend car if you are in the market.

Yup.

This market is great if you have money, like all downturns. If you have cash, there are firesale deals to be had.

But this market was created because a lot of people have already spent money that they didn't have... so not a whole lot of people have the money for that kind of discretionary spending.

And those dollars buy less and less of actual things... like life savings value, and food.

Those may be 30k... But that seems harder when the retirement account has dropped about 40%-50% in the last 12 months, and the dow is floundering around 8500 points, and the government still wants to tax you to bail others out, and continue to devalue the currency.

30k might buy you a nice performance car today... It may buy you a loaf of bread and gallon of milk in about 18 months.... :D

that is exaggeration, of course, but hitting a wall of inflation at some point is all but guaranteed unless somehow the government's fiscal policy does an about face presently. I doubt a good liberal president, and a good liberal congress are going to cut spending and taxes, though.

Your dystopian future excites me if STIs are as cheap as bread

People were buying BRAND NEW 08 STIs with BBS under 30k recently, so the first deal you posted is not a deal at all...

Well I guess that's your bargining argument with the salesman then. What can I say.
