Underdog
Roughly $1300 from California to Massachusetts, enclosed carrier, fully insured, and with top level placement (to avoid drips and stuff). I used D.A.S. with no problems. Read more here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43790. The Crimson Dynamo
unlimited6986
The person would have to drop the car off at the place? They dont pick it up at the house?
Underdog
IIRC they had a door-to-door option but it was significantly more expensive. In my situation the dealer dropped it off at the terminal and I picked it up at my local branch (15 minute drive)... The Crimson Dynamo
Ssej
We had to clean my girl's car completely, couldn't even leave change in the car or they wouldn't accept it. Then had to drop it off in the shipping place's lot. They took the car from Phoenix, AZ to Western Mass. for about $815. It wasn't a closed container, I do believe they just put it up on a trailer with some other cars. I forget the name of the company tho.
leggtnut
We had my old legacy moved on the moving truck when we moved from WA to CA. They did a great job. They just put the legacy in the same truck as all our stuff. Not exactly sure how much it was all together. The company was Cor-o-van. The wife's company paied for it. oog61
Go to www.transportreviews.com. They have a comprehensive database of customer feedback for car shipping companies. There are lots and lots of them and the quality ranges greatly. My experience has been that the reviews are a pretty good indicator. Many of these companies are regional so keep that in mind when picking one. Many of these companies are brokers who basically find a trucker for you. So the company you arrange the shipment with may or may not be the one that operates the truck that picks up your car. I had good luck with www.autotransportdirect.com, which is a broker. The carrier they lined me up with was Relocation Station (910.484.0411) based in NC and they were terrific. I know RS does business all over the East Coast but am not sure if they are national. BWD
I had a car shipped from NJ to Colorado a few months ago. It was $1150 - door-to-door and it got here in 3 days. The original Transporter was AAA Able Auto Transport - who subbed it out to Giant Moving Services. The car was placed ontop of the carrier, right behind the cab of the truck to reduce damage from oncoming debris aswell as anything dripping on it from other vehicles. The driver was a super nice guy - I wouldnt hesitate to ship a car again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/BWD/Cars/LGT%20Wagon/100_3142.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/BWD/Cars/LGT%20Wagon/100_3144.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/BWD/Cars/LGT%20Wagon/100_3145.jpg
