snow05gtRI
I can get Dunlop Graspic DS-2 snow tires with less than 5000 miles on them (supposedly used for 1 season late dec to early march) size 215/50/17 for $350 or best offer. They used to be on an Acura TL, seen pictures online and they look like they're in pretty good shape. Did some reading on tirerack and they seem alright. Any input? krzyss
Would they fit? Krzys
TobyR
A GT would need 215/45/17 would they not?
snow05gtRI
I'm not exactly sure, which is why I asked. I see a 205/50/17 in the tire FAQ above so I figured it might work...?
ilh
205/50R17 is already about 0.5in larger diameter than the stock 215/45R17. I wouldn't want to go taller.

krzyss
For winter I would use 205/50R17 or 215/45R17. Summer or all seasons 225/45R17 fit original wheels but wide tire is poor choice for winter. 215/50R17 seem to have diameter of 25.5", 225/45R17 are 25, 205/50R17 are 25.1-25.2 215/45R17 are 24.6-24.8 Krzys
TobyR
I can' t say for certain, but would not larger total diameter than stock cause odometer issues?
krzyss
If tires fit then you have odometer inaccuracy issues (speed too) but if tires do not fit then odometer inaccuracy is minor problem. Krzys
ilh
My speedo is more accurate with 205/50 and 225/45 as verified by GPS as compared with stock 215/45 (reads high).
change_agent
205/50R17 is already about 0.5in larger diameter than the stock 215/45R17. I wouldn't want to go taller. The 205/50R17's are stock tires on the 2008 Touring Pkg in Canada. So they will work.
snow05gtRI
the ones i was talking about were 215/50 i think they design the speedo to read high with stock tires. i'm pretty sure all car speedo's are off high because if you think you're going 70 in a 65 you're actually going 67 in a 65...safer i guess?
