gershon
That does look good plus you can put new ones in much easier when they burn out. I have had my lights apart three times now. At this time I have a flicker in one of the strips not to mention that they are two different colors. One of the strips is a true white or close to it and the other has a blue/purple tint to it. This is so frustrating.
BigInALegacy
I wonder how it would look/if it would work with fiberglass eyelids on the headlights... hmmm
dwiens87
I just took it through the car wash (touchless) and every stayed on, phew. On a good note, I had a small leak on my rear left window (the one that doesnt open) and the outside trim didn't have any damage but looks like the new chrome trim that i put ontop fixed that...for now...I keep looking out my side mirrors waiting to see it fluttering in the air but even after cooking in the sun all day, everything stayed put. However on a sad note, my led strip has decided to skip lighting up a group of 3....grrr

gershon
I will post photos of how I did it when I get a chance. It is a rig but it is solid and the axles are still pretty straight.

drum3rjay28
dweins87, your LED strips look great! Can I pleeeeze see a distance shot with headlights on?
dwiens87
Well LEDs were great while they lasted. First a few bulbs went out or were flickering. Then I ended up in a pile up on a mountain road which wrecked the front. The repair guys cut up the wiring so now i just have those 2 strips sitting there. The silver wiring on the outside is still holding strong. Now I'm sporting my right 2005 headlight and a left 2006 chrome headlight. It's fun blinding people who cruise the passing lane, since my left light is a tad brighter. Thanks repair shop.
TSiWRX
^ ROFL - not at your bad fortune (sorry - I hate to hear that happened to one of our own ), but rather, at the repair shop! <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
dwiens87
My contact at the shop tried to convince me that the headlights looked different because my old one was dirty. He offered to clean it inside and out for $50. Obviously, I declined and drove away happy to have my car back. Later, at closer inspection do I notice the chrome and since I live in Boulder, there are plenty of 05-09 subaru outbacks to compare. I'm still debating about going back and making something of it, but at the same time, it's not really an inconvenience.
