I need to buy a tactrix cable since my efforts to make my own data logging cable have failed thus far. I do NOT need to flash my car - just to feed data in my CarPC. I have no interest in ever flashing the car with OpenECU tools either.

Which cable to buy for my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT 5MT ?

Please assume I know shit about Tactrix.

Do I buy

OpenPort for Subaru Drive-by-wire vehicles

or Do I buy

OpenPort for Subaru WRX and Drive-by-wire vehicles

do I need some other connector ?

Thanks a lot.

I'd vote for waiting until the OpenPort 2.0 cable comes out. It's got standalone datalogging to a MicroSD card. And a few more features. Should be available the 31st of July.

Well it's on the website now. It's a bit pricey, but for what you can do, it seems worth it.

I bot a cheap VAG COM cable at first but had no luck with it...the pins were off. A lot of people were able to use it, just not be. I sucked it up and bot the $79 real deal...recevied it really fast....I highly reccd you take this route as it will save you time and it will work.

Thank you all for the advice. i will go with the 80 dollar one. I do not need to datalog to a microcard when I have a carpc . And really, I have an AP1, just that the connector is bulky and i hit it with my foot.

Is this basically the same as the dongle and cord you get with the Cobb AP?
