I ordered wheels 5 weeks ago from a local Town Fair Tire. The company who made them told me they would fit. We got them in last Tuesday and they didn't fit at all. They needed 10mm worth of spacers and stuck out a ridiculous amount from the fender. So I picked out new two piece wheels last Tuesday, and was told 7-10 days, and they still aren't here yet :(. I actually have a bunch of parts for it that I'm waiting to install. They need to be installed this week, I want to take the car to UCONN Saturday. :)

Thanks for the compliment :) Its not a typical SRT and I'm not a typical SRT owner.

It ought to! Ha ha! Its a Nikon D40 Digital SLR. I've gotta grab a circular polarizer for the day shots (not those but ones with sun) and then I should be set. The camera was a decent chunk of change. I'm still learning all its features though. I'll get better as time goes on. I love these meets for two reasons, I have fun, and I get to practice with the camera.

Polarizer's work good... You should try a graduated neutral density filter also. It will help bring out the contrast in the skies a little. Also, try turning your ISO down as much as you can and shoot in RAW and see if you can manually bring your contrast up. If you can't do that either, stay in RAW mode and take 3 of the same shots at 3 different exposures. You can do 1 shot but it won't come out nearly as good. I have a program that can do HDR images.

Here is the same photo from the Mohegan Sun Meet.

Great pics ! Do you process them anyhow other then resizing ?

Mine needs sensor cleanup. I went through some pics I took a year ago and the ones I shoot now come a lot more blurry. Looking to do sensor cleaning myself as there is no place around I would trust enough to let them do it.

Photobucket resizes them when I upload them. But they stay at 3000x2008 on my computer (6.1mp).

As for editing with those all I did in Photoshop V9 CS2 was:

- Auto Levels

- Auto Contrast

- Auto Color

- Shadow & Highlight

- Sharpen (if it needed it)

I'm not familiar enough with the program to manually go in and edit stuff. I took some day shots today of a friends SRT and its VERY evident that I need a CP, the glare off the car is killing me! TNP that picture from the Mohegan meet is pretty cool! I like it :). So shooting in full on manual, at different exposures in the same position is HDR? Were you using that filter to take that shot?

Here's why I need a CP: This first shot came out great! The second one the glare/gloss killed me and it didn't matter what I did in editing I couldn't get it to go away. These were both shot with no Tripod in "A" mode (aperture) around F11-F13. It was around 4-4:30 in the afternoon w/slightly overcast skies. Everytime the sun came out, it gave me issues.

Of course weather always plays a factor in your shots. Overcast or cloudy days can usually benefit you though, especially in HDR. To get the full effect of HDR, you must take the same picture (You WILL need a tripod) at 3 different EV steps. Your auto bracketing feature on your camera will do this for you. You can do this in 1/2 or 1/3 EV steps. I usually go +1 and -1 and the original at 0. Make sure you capture the images in RAW also. It saves all of your cameras information at the time of the exposure and the image is uncompressed. There are ways around this using JPG so if you're taking alot of shots and don't have the memory to support it, you can still get away with it. Photoshop CS3 has options in the menus for HDR and so does CS2 I think but I usually use Photomatix Pro. If I ever get to show up to another meet I'll lend you a copy ;)

Some resources to get you started with it. Check out the pics in the second link. Awesome shots

To get rid of glare on a car, get a circular polarizing lens filter.. They work wonders and it should be one of the main things in your camera bag besides batteries. Also, look into a clear UV if you don't have one and a Neutral Density filter. With overcast skies, an ND filter with a gradient will help you get rid of that "white out."

Yes.

Ha. I knew you put them away for a reason :) Btw, was it you who waived to me from an older green Legacy sedan on Rt 138 Saturday - around URI Kingston campus ? That car turned to Ministerial Rd (RT 110) from 138. I haven't had any coffee that day so I was somewhat slow when pulling from Taylor's landing coffee shop - they were closed already :((

I'm definitely going to pick up a CP and the NDF once I get the cash. I don't want to buy cheap though....never amounts to anything good. What camera do you shoot with BTW? Just for curiosities sake.

As for the "RAW" I have NEF (RAW) and NEF (RAW) + JPEG basic. I just set it to regular NEF (RAW), it was in JPEG normal.

NEF is Nikon's RAW format...My RAW format is PEF... I have a Pentax *iST DL right now but I'm getting the Pentax K20D for a second camera soon. I'm gonna be starting up wedding and events photography. I've yet to notice the difference between a really cheap polarizing filter and a good one. Maybe the ones I have aren't cheap enough lol... Hoya and Tiffen make pretty good filters, as soon as I start shooting IR photography, I'm gonna be picking up one of those IR filers. Check out Amazon and EBay before you check camera shops, you can usually find really good deals. You can pick up a CP or a ND filter for under $15 there most of the time
