Here you go. Pics. of the BMK-13 in 05 Legacy GT. It will filtrate your oil down to 2 microns & add 2qts. to oil system. The "NEEDS" is what you need besides what come in the BMK-13 installation Kit. Plus look at the pic. for other misc. parts.

need (4) 3.5"-1/4-20 bolts to mount threw the frame. And another 8' of hose.

The EaO-26 is to long, had to cut out a releaf in the botten fender skirt. Pick short full flow filter from the installation sheet.

^^^ Yes, I look at it. But very little room for the dual filter kit. I didn't think I would of found room for that too. Now where I mounted the unit. If I go to a different CAI & releaf the inner wheel well alittle. It my just fit.

Well, placed the order. I have leave 17-21 march so I will probably install it then. They wanted $50 for the 90 degree fittings. That is crazy, and I am a dealer. I will go to the local store and pay a few bucks instead. Ordered the eao-15, I hope that is smaller. Couldn't find a dimensions page. How long do you think it took you to install it all?

I tride to go to a Tractor supply store. They didn't have what I needed. I needed 90 deg. fitting. One end needed to be felmale the other male. The tractor supply store hand only double male ends.

 

About 4 to 5 hrs. If you have everything you need. It took me a weekend, With no idea where I was mounting it & not having & or now what I really need until I found a place to mount it.

I'd rather just have normal filtering instead of having the risk of ripping/ruputuring/blowing off hoses that could kill my engine in the matter of seconds.
I'm pleasantly surprised... It was most certainly worth the couple bucks and 10 mins of my time.

Does this mean it reduces oil pressure by 10% too?

 

Not that I'm a where of. I Didn't use the BMK-11 or 12. If you have any "?" can contact Amsoil here, http://www.amsoil.com/techservices.aspx

In using the BMK-11 & 12. The 10% is what going threw the by-pass filter at any given time. That why they call it “partial-flow” . I used BMK-13 & like the other By-Pass system that connect right at the OEM's spin-on filter location. So making the a "full-flow" system. Which making it a close system and no worrys of oil pressure drop off. IMO the BMK-11 & 12, a "partial-flow" system can be a closed system if the return oil line is install below the oil level in the oil pan.

I have one on my truck, and have for about 3 years now. No problems. Also, all large diesel engines have these, and the power plants I work on also have bypass filters. The only concern one really should have with these, is to ask themself is it overboard? I say no because I plan to remove the banjo bolt filters and use this to cover the smaller particles.

Sorry, stupid question, you don't need a 2 qt. filter right before the turbo. It just seems like one could have clean one-day-old oil and still have an iron or lead shaving make its way into the turbo - so in my mind at best there would be some small easily-serviceable filter in the turbo oil feed line. This has been discussed to death, but the only thing I ever hear about is people removing the banjo bolt filter and making the oil in the sump "cleaner" with synthentic oil or or shorter OCIs or bypass filters. I've never heard of anyone actually putting a serviceable filter right before the turbo though.

warteaufmich, You seem :confused:. I won't speak for prime power. But from reading his post. I think he's doing the BMK-13 Dual filter kit, like I did.

Well, almost ready. The extra line was on backorder so I will have to wait a week. I ran into hell finding those fitting, not exactly the ones you have but should work. I am having no luck though finding that hot air tubing. Where did you get it?

^^^ I got mine at CarQuest. You should be able to find it at NAPA or any other auto parts store. Another name for it is, "preheater tube." For carbed vehicels. Brings hot air off the exhaut manifold to the air intake.

I ran into hell finding those fitting, not exactly the ones you have but should work.

 

Becareful, you don't have much room. When I was done. I only have 1.5" or maybe 2", between the bottem of the skid pan & the 90deg. fittings going to the spin-on adapter.

I should have room then, I will get on this next week. I went to Oreilly and they didn't have the tube. I will try another store or 2 today.

Well, got home after work and started. I have the bracket and bypass plate mounted. Tomorrow morning I will get the lines ran and the spin on adapter done. Then tidy it up. That was some work getting through that frame. Glad it is done and on.

Did you use a 90deg. drill when you drilled your holes. 3" box frame + tight space to drill = PITA to have your holes line up. Did you find a hot air tube. If not you could ues some exhaust header wrap. To wrap around the oil supply lines instead.

Yep, no other way to do it. I did find a hot air tube. It is resting against the down pipe, that is fine right?

 

So glad I got it done. The filter I used protudes a little into the fender well but it doesn't appear it will hit. I turned the tires and it looks to have enough room. We will see.
