Spec B Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Ahh...i remember when I first went stage 1. It was a good day.
kopy_kat Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 it's going!!! 2%..... 4%.. AHHH FASTER!!!!! will let you guys know once it is done..
rubberman Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 If you just went to Stage 1, then get ready to spend more $ to go to Stage 2 soon. I've only had my AP for a week now, and already I am getting ready to order the UP/DP to go stage 2.
Noktrnal_Legacy Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Nice, just get ready for stage2 though.. The power is like a drug! Can't get enough of it!
VTGT Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Yeah you get bored of stage 1 after about a week and then you get bored of stage 2 power in about a month......Oh the slippery slope
kopy_kat Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 so... now i am @ stage 1!! it's nice!!! it wasn't a kick in the butt that i thought it was.. the change was subtle.. but it good subtleties! mainly 1st and 2nd between 1.5-3k rpm.. smooth acceleration.. a lot less of the 'is it going? is it going? BAM!! woah!'.. it just goes.. but i dunno if i will miss the 'BAM!'.. i just drove the car for 5 minutes around the block.. but so far i like it! though there was a little fright in the beginning! after i un-plugged the AP the car would not catch.. i turned the car off.. turned it on, wait for the speedometer dance to finish before i try to turn the engine.. then it caught.. phew.. relief!!! so yay!! i am out of the bone stock circle! late, k
taskforcefreddy Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 You're not going to notice the chance right away. Some will say give it 200-300 miles before you notice any big changes. The ECU needs a few miles to adjust and then you'll notice the difference.
bsdzine Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 drive it hard for the first hundo miles.... that's what i did and i love being stg I, stg II in springtime. brian

I think it is cause you are not trying to "feel" for the improvement as much. Enjoy!
hogmeat Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 the reason it didn't fire is because it does a 15 second throttle plate calibration after a reboot like that. Turn key on, count to 15, crank. I'm pleasantly surprised... It was most certainly worth the couple bucks and 10 mins of my time. CLICK HERE FOR THE HOGZAUST
kopy_kat Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 the reason it didn't fire is because it does a 15 second throttle plate calibration after a reboot like that. Turn key on, count to 15, crank. good to know! it scared the buhjesus out of me! but it is all working good.. really like the drive ability.. definitely less turbo lag.. ppl think i am nuts.. fast take off @ lights when the next light is red.. fun times!! don't know if it was my car but i smelt burnt oil.. maybe it was the truck next to me.. but on the way back from work i didn't smell anything..
05GT Guru Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Listen you have a turbo car, i have owned alot, sometimes turbos just burn a little oil, it happens to pretty much every car ever made with a turbo. To keep no oil what-so-ever being burnt by the turbo you would need to rebuild your turbo like twice a year.
tommypenguin Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Go stg 2 as fast as possible Haha, no pun intended. I never really planned on modding my lgt, then after a year and half of ownership I got infected by the modding bug. I went stage 1, 3 months later, I was stage 2. I do not regret it, stage 2 was a major kick in the pants over stage 1.
BoozeRS05 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I'd get rid of the cat in your UP, asap.. Should be the first step for power modding.. EB's Subaru journal - 2005 LegacyGT Wagon & 2014 Forester FB25 (2008 specB - RIP) IG@legacygtliving
Googalash Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Man I went from stock straight to STG2 and now I wanna go to 2.5......I should have thrown a STG1 in there to slow my slippery slide a little bit.
sirsimon Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 +1 I went from stock to "stage 2.5". Next headers+Torco, then a turbo upgrade will be inevitable.
magnus617 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 i just went to stage 2 last night. man what a kick in the pants! you think it takes off fast now, wait till you get a up/downpipe. never, under any circumstances, take sleeping pills at the same time as a laxative.
kopy_kat Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 ahhh!!! STOP TEMPTING ME!!!!! must _resist_!!! cant.... hold.... on... much.... longer....
