I can't imagine that it is too uncommon, I would think it is an item that would work for many Subarus across the board. I would think in the hopes of improving clutch feel and consistency, an often posted-about quirk of the 5MT... I don't think it would be as effective as the brake line upgrade since I don't think the clutch system is boosted to the same pressures.
