I should have done that a long time ago. I'd say not bad for missing a half-liter of displacement. Why didn't you mention the two HTA68-powered 2.5 liter cars that have run traps 6-7mph higher on pump gas? Well, because that would be counter-productive to your quest, wouldn't it? GoofyLGT
This could be a stupid question, is this a swapped 6 cylinder into a legacy? mwiener2
well then I guess he either swapped in a Tribeca engine or bored out his own (it's only a .1 increase per cylinder) My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
ehsnils
Since Alastaro is in Finland, and the 3.0 engine is what the Spec B has over here it's a safe bet to say that it was a bored engine. RPA Performance
I have always been intrigued by the drag strip and finally decided to get up and go today. I made some runs by myself as well as running against a turbocharged Mazda MX6. I was the only import there until the Mazda showed up. The runs were made at the 1/8th mile Piedmont Dragway which is at around 880 ft elevation. I have done some autocross and other similiar events but this was my first time at the drag strip and I felt pretty good as I got more runs in and believe once I improve my launching and driving I can shave off a bit more of my time. Here are the runs R/T .772 60' 1.939 330 5.609 1/8 8.693 MPH 81.79 ------- Legacy ---- ---- MX-6 R/T ---- .785 ---- ----- .646 60' ---- 1.882 ---- ----- 2.106 330 --- 5.632 ---- ----- 5.838 1/8 --- 8.705 ---- ----- 8.794 MPH -- 82.13 ---- ----- 84.31 ------- Legacy ---- ---- MX-6 R/T ---- .846 ---- ----- .644 60' ---- 2.084 ---- ----- 2.202 330 --- 5.874 ---- ----- 6.084 1/8 --- 8.953 ---- ----- 8.980 MPH -- 82.46 ---- ----- 87.91 Once I improve my launching and driving I believe I should be able to get to low 8s User Name: RPA Performance Date: 10/25/2009 Track: Piedmont Dragway Elevation 880 ft Temperature: 55 F Year of Car: 2005 Transmission: MT Turbo: VF40 Octane: 93 Water Injection: Yes Nitrous: No Tires Inflation pressure: 38/36 Other Modifications: The Legacy was built by RPA Performance and tuned by Motion Lab Tuning. specialB
^^ thank you! yea I had a blast. A little bit of nerves off the line the first time but it was definitely a blast. haha the first run i got to take I lined up with the stage lights and accidentally went like an inch or two too far and the top stage light on my lane went out so i tried to back up and correct quick and by the time i was back in first the 3-2-1 takeoff lights were already goin so i wasnt able to properly launch but my first run had a 1.09 reaction time a 2.3 sixty foot and ran 13.9@102.11. seeing that my goal for the day was to break 14.0 and i did that on my first run i was verry happy.
