When sanding, same direction?

I rotated sanding the whole thing with each grit. I kept spinning it while sanding.

Here's a pic of my newly re-modified badge, painted flat black to match the headlights, fog covers, and grill. Dark - If you want silver carbon fiber I would recommend using what I did for the second pic, I got some C/F vinyl at autozone, the part that's sticky is silver instead of black so I just sanded the OEM badge and stuck the vinyl to it, looked pretty good imo (sorry for the sh*tty cell quality on both)

I wonder if they have black. That looks pretty good.

Bummer. I want some that is adhesive in black. That would look slick. The silver, on my white car, would look lame.

I had this DIY done on my former car (Impreza).

The result using sandpaper to get rid of the original paint on the back of the badge does not give the smooth result one would like.

I used nailpolish-remover without 'aceton' in it.

This very easely disolves/removes the paint, but does not in any way hurt the plastic of the badge.

This gives a much smoother end result.

Brake parts cleaner is what I ended up using instead of sand paper. That way it will leave a nice smooth finish after removing the paint. Just spray it on a rag and don't go into the chrome areas.
