jazzymt
Anyone brought this up to their dealer yet? TSB 05-36-07Rear Wheel Toe-in and Rear Tire Pressure Specifications Service Bulletin #05-36-07 Pages: 1 Bulletin Description: The purpose of this bulletin is to provide the new rear toe-in adjustment value and rear tire pressure specification to prevent rear tire wear when additional weight is added to the vehicle. My rear tires are wearin' like a mo-fo & the dealership refuses to do another alignment - saying Subaru allows only one alignment under warranty because it's an "adjustment" and not a repair. rabydanimal
No, but my tires seem to be wearing unevenly as well. Definitely less tread in the middle than on the outsides.
LawGT
No, but my tires seem to be wearing unevenly as well. Definitely less tread in the middle than on the outsides. This means your tire pressures are too high.
rabydanimal
I would think that too but I've been running them 1-2 PSI below what's on the door panel (can't remember what they are for front and rear at the moment). I guess I can lower them some more. I blame it on my Jazzy board
LawGT
^^^ Stock tires and stock suspension? If so, should be 35F/33R. I would think its odd for center tire wear to be due to aligment settings, without corresponding inside or outside tire wear. I would check tire pressures and then take to dealer if that fails. I see you are at stage II, sure you are not doing tons of burnouts? (a la funnycar- thus wearing the center of the tire first)
rabydanimal
Ha! Burnouts?! I've only ever gotten the tires to chirp and maybe leave a 3 inch patch. If I try to launch it any harder on dry pavement my clutch goes in to skunk mode. Mind you I've only done this a couple times, the stink punishment from abuse is not pleasant. Stock suspension (for a few more days) and some type of Avon tires, but the same size as stock. I figure tire pressures should be similar.
ilh
(In the summer) I run stock tires at 37/35 with no extra wear in the center. Too bad, I wouldn't mind an excuse to ditch the lovely RE92.
Waxiboy
I am lowered. Do you think dealer would give me a free alignment?
jazzymt
My excessive wear is across the entire rear tires (not outside or inside). I have completely stock suspension. It is a LOT of wear compared to the fronts - I think the alignment is out (again). This is just a bulletin of revised rear toe settings...it's not a recall to perform an alignment.
jazzymt
It's a bunch of BS to cover a design that can't hold a rear alignment is what it is...
