Maybe a VTEC nameplate to finish off the look.

You might be a ricer if...

From that page... You might be a ricer if:

* Clear tail lights and turn signals. They’re colored for a REASON!

* Your four cylinder has a dual exhaust system installed.

* You install colored bulbs in your aftermarket clear lenses.

* You really want to kick my ass right now.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger...

personally, I want to debadge my car, not subaru no sti badges, and just have in chrome cursive writing, "Ekaterina", its my car's name. Anyone know of a place that sells lettering?

Google for custom nameplates car.

I still feel bad about having dual pipes. The one thing I asked the salesman when I picked up my car was "that's not really a dual exhaust, is it?" It might be factory rice, but it's still rice. At least it's low key. That stupid spoiler on my wagon counts, too. It looks nice, but a rear air deflector would be a lot more useful.

It was funny to see the light clearing on that list. I know it's popular here, but... a cosmetic "mod" that involves putting your headlights in the oven and will make you fail a state inspection?

I saw some RS Turbo decals on Ebay Australia..

They are legacy specific, previous model, non-us-market...

RS Turbo, and a side decal that said:

"Continuous AWD DOHC 16-Valve Fuel Injected Intercooled Turbo"

I kid you not. I thought about putting that on my car for half a second. It applies. It is official Subaru, and it is for a Legacy. An older Legacy RS Turbo, in Australia.

But seriously... I have been looking at badges...

I am contemplating the side STI badges, but the cherry colored STI is not going to work on my red car... So I thought about just using the Subaru Technica International text on or just above or below the rub-strip in the front doors... and then some 3-dimensional cherry/silver/black STI badges either at the leading edges of the doors, or even on the front fenders in line with the rub strips...

I also have been thinking about an STI badge for the trunk lid... And getting a "Legacy" and "2.5 GT" back... and re-arranging them a bit. Possibly also painting them glossy black or carbon gray. (dark, rather than chrome.)

I'm thinking of re-arranging them with Legacy and GT on the left side, GT a little lower, and close to the license plate area, since Legacy fills most of that area.

STI in the lower right, on a line between the lower inboard tail light corners.

Then the OE "2.5", and "Turbo" from the Saturn Sky Redline on the right side, opposite of "Legacy" The badges are the same font, same radius front shape, and a slightly smaller size. I don't worry about it... especially since "LEGACY" "2.5" and "GT" are all different sizes in the OE badging, but all the same font.

I thought about a subaru AWD badge in the lower left... opposite "STI" but it is getting crowded already, and I am considering leaving "GT" and "2.5" off, and just going with: \ LEGACY \--------/ TURBO / with STI several inches below "Turbo"

But right now, I am just trying to figure out how to put the subie oval I got into my subastyle'd mesh grille...

  • 2 months later...

i think its only rice if the badge you put on has no relevance to anything on your car. if you have a damn sti engine than by all means put sti everywhere you want. never a gtr or anything because there is no way it could be on a subaru.

i took all my badges off and i am adding just an SL on the back and on the grille. why you may ask??? well the car is a Subaru Legacy as well as SL being my intials. i thought that was a pretty cool coincidence and i like that no one has any idea what it means (except everyone i just told i guess:lol: )

I also got a badge from James lee siang tan on ebay.

That would be all I'd order though.

japanese_auction, AKA intuition performance, AKA stilgt, AKA darkwatch, AKA subaru_specialist, AKA ???

Bad news, just search..

Why is he not a vendor here?

He use to post links to his ebay stuff, and offer deals ON HERE, but bad rep. is now following him...

still a member here, but is hiding, or using alias (he likes to have at least ten names at once!)

I got my money back after waiting four months for this auction on ebay...

Thanks Master Card!!

Took money and gave me 10,000 excuses, then disappeared.

www.japanparts.com is the real deal. I'd stick with a REAL vendor, skip ebay scamasters.

haha this is similar to what goes on with us cobalt owners, lower base models put the ss badges on their lt and ls models and they get flamed for it, but hey its up to you

Woah, you can't compare a LGT to an STI that way.

Cobalt is to Cobalt SS as

Legacy 2.5i is to Legacy GT

NOT Legacy GTs have STI parts already in them sometimes. (STI Short shifter, etc)

STI is just Subaru's performance department. I personally wouldn't put any STI emblems on my Legacy, but thats because I don't really like STI equipment compared to other after market. I have two Cobb stickers because I have Cobb aftermarket parts. STI is too pricey for what it is.

You can't really compare STI to SS in that way.

The analogy would be like putting some GM Performance Parts logos or appropriate Zxx tags on your Cobalt SS.

As Hutru mentioned, the Legacy GT has some of the same parts as the STI already, mostly in the engine block area, and possible STI accessories like pedal covers, door sill plates, or a short shifter. If more was available from SOA, people would have more STI catalog parts.

Some have japanese sourced STI pink springs, or Bilstein struts that are usually similar to those fitted by STI and "tuned-by-STI" cars, and STI spoilers, etc.

The 2.5i can have some of the accessories, but bears less technical resemblance to an STI underneath.

appearance only re-badging a Chevy to an SS or Zxx, or BMW to ///M, Merc to AMG, etc... would be closer to putting STI badges on a non-turbo subaru, or re-badging a Legacy 2.5i with GT badges, and a hood scoop for appearance. You can do it, but the reasoning is up for debate. Putting an STI badge on a tuned Legacy GT is like putting an ///M sport logo on a tuned sport-package BMW. Not a full ///M car, but ///M does tune "lower" BMWs with the ///M sport packages.

My car came with an STI badge in the grille, and I don't mind it. I am thinking of putting an OE black/cherry red STI badge on the trunk lid, as well, because my car is definitely something more than stock, even though the STI parts are a minimum, and other aftermarket brands have more presence. My car does have a perrin sticker on the front bumper, which I am still trying to determine what perrin parts it has. It has an STI/Cobb hybrid shift arrangement, a Megan Racing/Magnaflow combination cat-back exhaust with Cobb hangers, Cobb/TDC stage 2 tune, and a blitz air filter, and pro-sport guages in the Casopolis cubby-pod, RBS front spoiler, non-branded front and rear chassis brace bars (LegacyGT.com stickers on them :D ), and Whiteline lowering springs, and soon to have Rota wheels.

Bilsteins and Ion springs, brembo front calipers, Cobb, Cusco, or Whiteline, or some sort of sway bars, and maybe a full 3" downpipe, and a few other little bits here and there are hopeful items for the future.

So needless to say, it has several aftermarket brand names associated. But nothing is as widely known as "STI" for enhanced subaru performance.

I just don't know who would get it if I put a COBB sticker on the lower right corner of my car's trunklid... STI gets a little more understaning glances, and a litte more understanding that my car is not your average four-door family-mobile, but a 300+hp, AWD piece of hardware.

I wouldn't put a COBB emblem/sticker on the body of the car either. Its not a Cobb Legacy GT. :)

I put COBB stickers in the rear side windows though just to give COBB some recognition for a nice product. (and the white stickers look cool with my SWP color) :p
