Another british car I would sell my Legacy GT for; one of the few.

The Aston Martin Rapide is a killer. But the new Jaguar C-XF might just be an assassin. I have always liked the S-type R for what it is... but if this, or something like it, becomes the new XF-R, it will be at or very near the top of my aspiration list. (although I still wish they had a better new name than 'XF')

I know it is a concept, and the XF will probably be a bit more sedate... but damn. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. This is a sedan that looks better than most coupes, few of those exist.

The grille looks like the intake on the F100-Super Sabre jet, or something. very different, and somehow uniquely cool. One central grille definitely looks better than three like the subaru Schnozz treatment.

The headlights are bemoaned about departing the double oval jaguar archetype, but I can see the slight reference to them 'behind' the lenses.

The roof is low, very, very, very low, and I am sure that the production car will be higher... but if it has a similar line, like the new XK coupe... it will be a stunner, even in production.

RWD with a 4.2 AJ supercharged V8... -R brakes, wheels, and the rest... (I am sure it will probably have traction control, albeit not a substitute for AWD...) This car should be a performer. The only minus is that it has a hydraulic automatic transmission, rather than an F1-style automated, clutched manual box with electronic control. (although the Maserati Quattroporte is criticized for it's version of that sort of system, for long shift duration.) A Dual-clutch automated gearbox would be a natural in this car.

Too bad it won't be a 5-door hatchback sedan. People probably don't think that would be dignified for a mid-level Jag, but that is too bad... I like the hatches on the new Astons and XK Coupe. It adds some practicality.

This car is actually better looking than the good looking new XK... one wonders if Jaguar execs will allow that to translate into production.

different class from the legacy.

I dig though, Im a fan of the design of the new-age jags. Starting from the new XK

I certainly wouldn't sell my Legacy for something in the same class as the Legacy or lower... what, the new camry? no chance. A4? natsomuch... I wouldn't even sell it for some other cars in the Jag's s-type or XF replacement class.

This car in Ecosse Blue with a light grey/black accent interior, and a dual-clutch automated gearbox would be nigh on perfect. AWD without a huge weight or performance penalty would bullseye the "perfection" target.
