Ispool4u
I was on japanparts and found these wheels which you can also get in silver. If these don't fit our USDM cars do they make STi center caps for the stock wheels? Ispool4u
Search I did search. All I found were threads about putting WRX STi wheels on the Legacy. I wanted to do that but I searched and found that you can't. I search for everything before I post. I figured the wheels on that link are different wheels since they say on the site they are for a Legacy. I have been on forums for years so don't type "search" like I'm some 16 year old who is joining their first forum. -David
CreoSTi
All I found were threads about putting WRX STi wheels on the Legacy. I wanted to do that but I searched and found that you can't. Yes you can. You need to use the 2004 WRX STi wheels (5x100 bolt pattern). I'm not sure if the STi center caps fit the stock Legacy wheels, though. They do fit the WRX STi BBS wheels, and are usually ~$150+ per set. I believe there's a decal company that can do the "STi" overlay to place on top of the stock center cap, but I don't know the url. -Mike-

I already know you can only use the 04 STi wheels on our cars. That's not the ? I asked. The wheels in that link aren't WRX STi BBS wheels but I don't know what they are. Does anyone know what they are. On the japanparts site they are "Legacy STi" wheels. -David
ToddMcF2002
I thought these were supposed to be expensive? $1562 for the set??? Sounds reasonable. I don't see how these wouldnt fit. Offset is right - I'm assuming PCD100mm = 5x100. Includes center cap http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=6&middle=2&small=22 Color: Gun metallic. 18x7.5JJ +55mm PCD100mm. Brembo clear. Included center cap

I would like to see some pics of 04 STi BBS wheels (gold) on a diamond grey LGT but since it's new for 07 I doubt anyone has pics yet. -David

I wanted to do that but I searched and found that you can't. You mentioned WRX STi wheels and then say you "wanted to do that" but couldn't... That's what my comment was based on. Based on your comment, my assumption (and rightly so) was that you didn't know that WRX STi wheels fit. So, I told you they did. And if you had searched like Hanger originally stated, you'd know that "18x7.5JJ +55mm PCD100mm" would fit. All the information about wheel fitment is in this thread (stickied at the top); http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4426 -Mike-

It's $1,562 for the set, but expect to pay an additional $400-500 to have them shipped over from Japan. -Mike-

Get some Rota's and put money into better tires.

hutru01
I love those wheels but dont they cost an arm and a leg? yeh, thats the issue. I just don't like paying extra money for a name when there are brands out there that perform the same or better.
darb1
they may cost more than twice as much as rota's but they are 3 times better. Quality is obvious, so is lack there of.

From everything I've heard Rota's are fine wheels despite the budget brand. Enkei's have a similar budget reputation anyway!

For daily driving, you don't need to pay that kind of money for wheels, it would be different if you were actually racing. Bad potholes are going to bend any rim regardless. Its a waste of money IMHO.
darb1
I've owned bronze rota tarmacs on my wrx...they are good for an inexpensive wheel. But the quality of the finish IE the paint on the rotas is does not look nearly as nice compaired to the sti wheel in question or in comparison to prodrives or other quality brands for that mater for that matter. darb1
^^^ thanks, but they're enkei's I'll spend 450 per wheel for BBS forged, but def. not for STI branded Enkei's well they are good enough to make wheels for McLaren Mercedes F1 team. http://www.enkei.com/McLaren.html
darb1
agreed..though just because enkei make 250 dollar rims does not mean these are them...... just saying they have the ability to make quality wheels some thing I haven't seen from rota yet...and no doubt BBS's are very nice..and yes you do pay for the STI name.. IE... $3272 for a set of these 18" sti wheels by BBS (but they are nice) http://www.japanparts.com/Pic/pic166-Subaru_Legacy_BLBP-STi/009-021.JPG
darb1
you can get RK's for 329 per wheel, I think they are ugly though..There are much nicer looking BBS wheels like the RGR that are 2750 for a set(tirerack)and I think the STI ones I mentioned are nicer than those....of the three below RK are obiously the cheapest and the sti are the nicest looking..you get what you pay for. RGR 2750 a set of 18" http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/bbs/swap/bbs_rgr_db_ci3_l.jpg STI 18" 3272http://www.japanparts.com/Pic/pic166-Subaru_Legacy_BLBP-STi/009-021.JPG RK's http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/bbs/swap/bbs_rk_ci3_l.jpg
hutru01
And why would you want to have STI splattered on your rims anyway? Its not like you have an STI. Thats almost as bad as putting Mustang GT rims on a V6 Mustang IMO. I will more than likely go with some enkei's or rotas. Again, there isn't any point in spending a lot of money on rims, (UNLESS you are autoxing or offroading) - The rest is just EGO feeding.
CreoSTi
And why would you want to have STI splattered on your rims anyway? Its not like you have an STI. Subaru Techica International is Subaru's in-house parts/vehicle developer. "STi" is not simply a model of the car (i.e. the WRX STi). It's more akin to Ralliart/Mugen than the M-series or AMG vehicles. So, if you have STi parts, then feel free to badge-whore it up (I did). -Mike-
ToddMcF2002
Agreed. M badges appear all over any 3-series cars with so called "performance packages". They are not posers - they come from the factory that way. STi is no different. Howerver,iIf you put a huge STi badge on the rear decklid where "GT" or "Spec B" goes, well then you are definately a poser

This completes the look with "STi" logo on the front lip. -Mike-
